My Experience at the Southern Travelers Explore Conference
Through Heather's Looking Glass

Back in the day, I used to frequent blogging conferences a lot. I even spoke at a few. I loved meeting like minded people, getting new ideas, and connecting with brands. As I got farther along in my writing journey, I found the educational tracks to not make sense for me, but I still went anyway to meet up with others and have fun. Then Covid hit, and conferences all but disappeared. I haven’t been to one since maybe 2017 or 2018….so suffice to say, it’s been a minute. When I heard about Southern Travelers Explore last year, I was so excited until I realized it was already sold out. Womp Womp ..read more

Disclosure: We were provided race bibs by runDisney for the Wine and Dine 5k as part of a media event, however all opinions are my own. Back in November, my family attended the WDW Fitcation media trip, where we learned all about the numerous ways to stay fit and keep up with healthy eating habits while on vacation. One of the things we were fortunate enough to participate in was the runDisney Wine and Dine 5k. This one was special, as it was my 9 year old daughter’s very first 5k. Emma Kate: 9 Years Old
Through Heather's Looking Glass

So I just realized today that I never wrote a 9 year old post for Emma Kate! Better late than never, right? I also realized I wrote her 8 year old post last January as well instead of September. Oops. It’s been busy, yall. When she was sick last month, she weighed in at 72 pounds, and is 4’9.5″ inches tall. That’s the 96th percentile for height and 81st for weight. Like last year, we spent a day at Dollywood for her birthday since it fell on a Sunday, and my parents were able to join us. Her birthday party was at a skating rink…even though she had never skated before. It was a lot of fun tho ..read more

Now we are at my parent’s house celebrating 2024 arriving tonight at midnight. This year has been crazy but mostly good. If you had asked me in mid October I would say it was the best year we have had in a long time. We had a rough la ..read more
