I found my old ipad after a long time after thinking it was lost. Its been off for years. No charger has worked to charge it and ive charged it for hours and overnight. Boufht tue charger and cable direct from apple so no dodgy ones. Pressing the home and on button doesn't work either. Has this happened to anyone else with a old device. I have an old Kindle, v 4.1.4 (non touch screen) that I want to give away. I wondered about updating the software; it doesn't really matter as it works fine. Is there any point? I can't think of any reason for doing so, given that's it's a non touch screen. Accessing the internet was still 'experimental' on this version and doesn't really work - you can access the internet but it's pretty useless. I have an old Kindle I want to get rid of. I thought deregistering it would delete all content from that device but it hasn't done. I'm not bothered about them staying on there and Kindle Store is now no longer available on that device. So presumably my details are safe if I gift it to someone? Seems as though they are but just want to double check. I'm thinking when someone registers it in their name, the books won't be available - just curious about that. EDITED Found Factory Reset ? Hi Just spent a delightful week in chalet in St Ives. The WiFi was hopeless, so tried to connect my Kindle HD to my iPhone 11’ s hotspot. Did the tweaks on the phone side but couldn’t connect the Kindle. Have tried Amazon forum but no joy. The iPhone is listed under networks on the Kindle but the password I enter is somehow wrong. (The only password I can think of is that for the router) In addition to any compatibility issue, I’m also confused by the WiFii/hotspot overlap.
