The Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia, California, offers a photographer’s dream backdrop for capturing a wedding. With its stunning architecture, beautifully manicured grounds, and picturesque wisteria-draped ceremony arbor at certain times, the opportunities for amazing photos are endless. I had the pleasure of capturing the nuptials of Sara (she/they) & Laura (she/her) in mid-May 2023. […]

Nestled within the Presidio’s Main Post, the Golden Gate Club is a gem that’s as rich in history as it is in beauty. I had the pleasure of photographing Isabel & Will’s wedding there in October 2023. The experience was nothing short of magical. It’s my pleasure in this blog post to share not only […]

If you’re considering getting married at the Presidio Log Cabin in San Francisco, I’m here to spill the tea!
First off, the cabin offers an expansive outdoor space with peekaboo views of the Golden Gate Bridge, city skyline and lush eucalyptus groves. The natural scenery provides an enchanting setting, perfect for both ceremonies and receptions.
As a photographer, I always have an eye out for spots around any venue with ample natural light and picturesque backdrops. There’s no shortage here.
This rustic venue has historical elegance in spades, yet price-wise it’s on the lower ..read more

If you’re searching for a wedding photographer, you’re no doubt faced with a barrage of unfamiliar terms that come with photographers’ packages.
No doubt you’ve seen terms like ‘gallery’, ‘album’, ‘sneak peek’, but maybe you’re not 100% clear on what is meant?
In this article, I’ll break down some common wedding photography terminology into layman’s terms. You can figure out whether the packages and add-ons you’re reviewing from your shortlist of wedding photographers are worth it!
I’ve tried to keep this article fairly general so it’s as widely applicable as possible. However, eac ..read more

I’m excited to share this gem of a Bay Area redwood wedding venue – Samuel P Taylor State Park located in Lagunitas in Marin County, CA. In the early part of 2023, I had the pleasure of capturing Vivian & Alex’s wedding here. The couple rented the enchanting Redwood Grove Group Picnic Area for their outdoor spring wedding celebration.
Massive redwoods create this natural cathedral vibe, ideal for intimate ceremonies, a mix of old-growth and second-growth. Soft sunlight played peek-a-boo through the leaves, giving the vows a cinematic touch while acoustic musicians struck up the coupl ..read more

If you’re in search of an idyllic setting for your big day (which obviously you are because who isn’t?!) the Mountain Terrace in Woodside, CA is a breathtaking Bay Area venue that’s well worth a look.
What I personally love about this wedding venue is the outdoor space. The spacious meadow with surrounding woods is where you’ll say your ‘I Do’s. The positioning of the towering redwoods is so perfect. They don’t obstruct the space, but allow the perfect backdrop for photos.
These beautiful majestic trees also frame the little sliver of the bay vista which is super unique. This venue has s ..read more

As a wedding photographer who’s spent years behind the lens capturing the magic of wedding days, I’ve come to understand the dreams, expectations, and – yes – the realities of weddings.
One request I’ve heard is, “I want to get a photo of every guest at my wedding.” While I completely understand the sentiment behind it, this task is often more challenging than it appears.
So, is it realistic to expect your wedding photography team will take a posed photo of every guest or small grouping at your wedding?
For larger weddings of more than ~35 guests, there are definitely a few factors to co ..read more

I couldn’t be more excited to showcase photos from this Riverfront Regional Park outdoor wedding ceremony!
Cindy & Mike married there in November 2021 with a tiny group of around 20 adults and 3 children. They held their ceremony there and then went on to Paradise Ridge Winery for their reception (about a 25-minute drive away).
Redwoods are very special to this couple. Mike proposed to Cindy under a redwood tree in Golden Gate Park. Though this wasn’t their original wedding plan (in fact when she reached out, Cindy excitedly told me they were having their ceremony at an expansi ..read more

Nestled in the breathtaking Marin Headlands of San Francisco, Hawk Hill offers a stunning backdrop for couples seeking a Golden Gate Bridge elopement experience! As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing a love story or two played out against this enchanting setting.
In this blog post, I’m going to introduce you to Denise & Trevor who eloped here at Hawk Hill in mid-February 2021. They were surrounded by 12 of their closest family members in a memorable elopement wedding atop this awe-inspiring hill overlooking San Francisco Bay.
I was fortunate enough to photogr ..read more
