I bought a Lenovo V15 G4 IRU laptop with 16 Gb RAM and 512 Gb SSD. It should come with an i5-1335U but instead it came with an i5-13420H. I want to understand the differences between those CPUs. Some questions: They went to market at the same time (Q1'23) and almost at same price (342 $ / 340 $) so I guess they must meet very different targets otherwise I would see no point in marketing both. I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 16" with an i5 1334u/Iris graphics thinking it would run cool and quiet considering the 1334u is a 15W part, however it idles at around 50'C with the fan always making its presence known. Running CPU-Z's benchmark, the P-cores hit 90'C within a few seconds. I've tried changing the power profile within the Dell app to 'cool' which has made little difference. My kid has a new W10 laptop with decent specs except the M2 SSD is only 256G. I've got a 1T 2.5" to upgrade. Thing is we did this already and it was fiddly to have the OS on the 256G and Steam stuff on the 1T. Unless you were vigilant Steam would try to put stuff on the 256G and clog it up. So what to do? Clone the 256G to the 1T and then remove the 256G and only run the 1T? If so which cloning software? Put em both in and let the kid struggle with the fiddlyness?
