February 2, 2024 Dave Andrusko By Dave Andrusko Editor’s note. This appeared in the February issue of National Right to Life News. Please share with your pro-life family and friends. For most of us, Melissa Ohden is the face of a “failed abortion.” You may be aware of the CliffsNotes version of Melissa’s utterly breathtaking story, one that amazes me to this day. In 1977 she survived a saline infusion abortion, a technique that was so dangerous (to the mother) that it is virtually no longer used anywhere. She was adopted by a loving family who raised her as their own.  Melissa ..read more

Abortion, Ballot initiatives, state Constitutions, Defense, and Elections.  Who knew all these would be important for pro-life voters to understand this summer?    Abortion policies will be tested this year through ballot initiatives in states across the country to see if state constitutions can be amended to permit or prohibit abortions since the fall of Roe and returning the question of abortion to the states as set forth through the Dobbs decision.  States like Ohio have a special election in which voters will decide to change the threshold from 50% of a yes vote (consi ..read more

In their book titled Women’s Health After Abortion: The Medical and Psychological Evidence, Elizabeth Ring-Cassidy and Ian Gentles wrote, “Drug-induced or ‘medical’ abortion has a higher failure rate than surgical abortion.” At the Abortion Survivors Network, not only do we serve the in ..read more
