May has been recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month since 1949, when organizations raise awareness through fundraising events, support programs and public educational programs focused on helping people with mental health issues.
Our law firm represents many individuals who are disabled because of mental health issues, the most common of which is depression or severe anxiety. These claimants often face more challenges than other claimants whose disabilities are more visible.
Unlike someone who has a disease or an injury, people suffering from mental health issues don’t always look disabled ..read more

This is familiar terrain to us, but for those new to having benefits denied and in some cases, treating physicians who dismiss their symptoms, it is an exponential increase of frustration and disbelief. In the ME ..read more

Most disability insurance policies require claimants to have their Social Security benefits paid to the disability insurance company rather than going to ..read more

Our 49-year-old client was a healthy, active woman who enjoyed a successful career as an Oncology Nurse Specialist, traveling extensively and dedicated to providing oncology patients with compassionate care. If Hartford has denied your long term disability claim, you are entitled to appeal the denial. Can you do it yourself? It’s risky. Here’s what you’re up against:

A focus on the physical and mental aspects of the claimant’s occupation is cruc ..read more
