2022 Election How Have The Georgia Polls Moved Since Herschel Walker's Abortion Controversy? By Nathaniel Rakich Oct. 18, 2022, at 11:26 AM ILLUSTRATION BY EMILY SCHERER Two weeks ago, the world learned that Herschel Walker, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Georgia who supports a total abortion ban without exceptions, had paid for his pregnant then-girlfriend to get an abortion in 2009. (Walker denies this.) At the time, we cautioned that we would need to wait and see how the controversy might affect Walker’s chances of winning the race. The state voted for a Democrat, Joe Biden, in the presidential race for the first time since 1992, and it elected two Democrats to the U.S. Senate. Looking back, it’s hard to pinpoint what turned Georgia blue. Was it antipathy toward then-President Donald Trump? After all, anti-Trump ..read more

2022 Election Georgia’s Senate Race Is Much Closer Than The Governor Election. Will That Hold Until November? By Geoffrey Skelley Sep. 7, 2022, at 6:00 AM After a history-making 2020 and 2021, Georgia is once again on our minds with two high-profile statewide races on the ballot this November: the U.S. Senate race, a highly competitive contest between Democratic Sen.
