Tell us about your background.
I grew up in Columbus, Ohio where my life revolved around playing sports and being outdoors – usually with my two brothers and the family dog. For my undergraduate education, I attended the Ohio State University where I played on the varsity baseball team and studied marketing. I think baseball really helped shape my approach to professional life – it instilled in me a high level of self discipline, a love of competition and a healthy understanding of the need for constant improvement.
After graduating, I joined the United States Navy where I served as an intelli ..read more

This year’s Veterinary Cancer Society (VCS) annual meeting in Norfolk, VA was wonderful! First of all, seeing many of our friends and colleagues in person for the first time in two years was just amazing! I know that word gets used far too frequently, but in this case, I truly mean AMAZING--which according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary “causing astonishment, great wonder, or surprise”. All of these adjectives applied when I saw colleagues of over 30 years or residents from the past 20 years in person. Everyone I spoke with at VCS was so thankful and glad to be able to see so many of their ..read more

Tell us about your background
I grew up on the Ohio/Kentucky border, from a relatively modest background. My mom worked 3 jobs to support me and my 2 siblings, and I didn’t step onto a plane until I graduated college. I went to school at Morehead State University in Kentucky and got an undergraduate degree in Finance. I feel so completely shocked at the type of work I get to do and the impact I get to make on the world, and I try to make the most of my chances every single day.
In my career, I’ve went from Professional Poker Player to High Frequency Trading to the startup world, first working ..read more

Dr. Michelle White DVM, Ph.D, Head of Genomics, FidoCure
What was your experience working with FidoCure® prior to joining the team?
In my first virtual meeting with members of the FidoCure team, I was struck by how interested each member of the team seemed to be in understanding the approaches that the Karlsson Lab and others at the Broad Institute were using to analyze tumor genomes and troubleshoot problems that arose in the process. Their shared enthusiasm for the science and potential of precision medicine made the meeting both rewarding and fun. When I eventually met several members of t ..read more

An introduction from Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Gerry Post
Veterinary medicine is changing. I remember one of my first days in veterinary school looking at the class pictures that were hung in the hallways. I remember seeing the first woman in one of these class photos and noting that she was still practicing.
Indeed, over the past 30 years, the number of women entering veterinary medicine has grown substantially. I have witnessed that trend happening in veterinary oncology as well. But the numbers don’t tell the entire story. These women are making substantial progress and truly changing the ..read more
