As finals approach, you may be looking for a reliably quiet place to study or even take your exams. The bookable study rooms on the lower level of the library may be the perfect place! If you are planning on speaking above a whisper during your study session, please consider using the library’s upper level or the collaborative workspace in room 15 on the lower level. There are a total of four pods in room 15, which can be reserved just like the study rooms. In addition to the intuitive tools and t ..read more

With the advent of rock climbing as an Olympic sport in the Tokyo 2020 Games, this alternative, adventurous pastime/lifestyle has broached the mainstream. While this post will not predict the likely winners in Paris 2024, nor speculate about the risks associated with free soloing (see “A Sponsor Steps Away From the Edge” for the story of Clif Bar dropping Alex Honnold and other free soloers as sponsored athletes), I will instead use this unique activity as an opportunity to study the intersection between recreation, indigenous religious freedom, and the very concept of wilderness. Though many ..read more

This March, we're shining a spotlight on sports law! Check back throughout the month to read posts about a variety of legal issues in sports and visit the library to see our book display! Election season is well underway with a looming question that may -- or may not -- be resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court next week. This is the focus of Distinguished Visiting Professor Edward (Ned) Foley and his colleagues' amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in Trump v. Anderson. The question presented is: Did the Colorado Supreme Court err in ordering President Trump excluded from the 2024 presidential primary ballot? Back on December 19, 2023, the Colorado Supreme Court, in a narrow 4-3 decision, held that: President Trump is disqualified from holding the office of President u ..read more
