A Willys Wagon Crushed by a Tree and Now Restored

~ Sent to us by David Hastings My grandfather purchased this 1956 Willys Wagon to serve as his deer hunting vehicle in 1956. My brother and I would often ride on the front fenders and also learned how to drive a manual transmission. He had his mechanic replace its 6 cylinder motor with a Ford Flathead V8 in the late 50s. The Wagon was heavily damaged when crushed by a fallen tree in 2012, making it necessary to use the body of a 1948 Wagon from the front cowl back to restore it with the front clip (fenders and the hood) from the 1956 Wagon. The restoration was completed in 2019. I enjoy going ..read more

687: Dave Groff’s 1958 Willys FC-150 When I purchased this vehicle it had black and green primer on the outside and nothing had been finished in the cab or the bed. I then had the engine and transmission rebuilt, painted/cleaned up the inside of the cab, and had the exterior painted. I built and installed the wood bed and trunk. Everywhere we go we turn heads! ~ Sent to us by Ethan Beeman This 1945 Willys MB was given to me as a tub on frame with a 289 Ford mounted in it. It was given to me by my cousin and his Grandpa, my Great Uncle who was a WWII army driver. After the war he restored cars (model “A”s) up until about 15 years ago when he decided to restore Willys Jeeps like the ones he drove in WWII. He did 2 full military spec Jeeps and started on the “hot rod” Jeep he gave me. He finally got to the point where he needed to move from the place he restored all of his cars and couldn’t work on them anymore so he gave it to me. Through Covid I did ..read more

686: Chris Sample’s 1944 Ford GPW I acquired this Jeep from a man who had worked on it extensively. Sadly, he passed away before he could complete it. I  just finished it and took it over the finish line. Now I take it to parades and car shows, and hope he is smiling down on me and his Jeep. ~ Sent to us by Suzan Vandersluis My dad acquired this 1957 CJ-6 Jeep in 1965. My fondest memories are Jeeping in the Colorado mountains with him. As time went on it was used less and less. Eventually I talked my dad into giving me the Jeep. I had it shipped to Rochester, New York. After new brakes, a tune up, tires and a few other things it was road ready. I take it on Saturday and Sunday afternoon drives with my boyfriend making new memories of my own. - Suzan Vandersluis Kaiser Willys Jeep Blog Story – If you would like to share your Willys Jeep Story please send us a line. ~ Sent to us by David Barlow This is my 1949 CJ-3A with an M38 reproduction body. I purchased it in 1973 while in my Junior year of college. After graduation this Jeep and I worked on the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC for the US National Park Service as a Park Ranger and the Jeep was my primary mode of transportation. During the summer and fall of 1974-1977 #Snugglesthejeep and I were involved in numerous Search and Rescue missions on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The vehicle was lovingly restored as a restomod during 2019-2023. - David Barlow Kaiser Willys Jeep Blog Story – If you would like to share ..read more

684: David Brown’s 1967 Jeepster Convertible This Jeepster Commando was handed down from my grandfather. He gave it to me in 2021. Since then I’ve gotten it back running. Swapped out the worn out rear mono-leaf springs. Plans for the winter are a power steering swap, full exhaust, new wiring harness and sheet metal work. A Willys CJ-5 Enjoyed After Years of Restoration Work

~ Sent to us by Chris Barth This Jeep was owned by a family friend that lived next to our hunting cabin. He bought it around 1970. I was able to drive it as a teenager while helping to cut firewood. I bought it from him in 1996. It had some rust issues and needed mechanical attention. The last state inspection was in 1980. I started to slowly address the issues starting with the suspension, there were several broken springs. Over next few years I rebuilt the trans and transfer case. In 2010 I rebuilt the F134. Note the speedometer had not worked in years so only 19k miles. It was only used fo ..read more

683: Anthony Campanelli’s 1967 Jeepster Commando and 1948 CJ-2A Both the Jeepster Commando and Willys CJ-2A are daily driven. The Jeepster is a Station Wagon Model with 79,000 Original Miles. The CJ-2A is a rare “Lefty” Jeep, serial #181643. I’m in the process of doing a complete rebuild, but as of now, I’m using it as a daily driver until I get enough parts in to start a tear down.
