It all started with a single glass of wine on a blind date.  A blind date where Walker picked the place.  And it was only about a hundred yards from Alan’s house.  Call it fate.  Or destiny.  Or divine intervention.  Whatever you call it, know that it’s a beautiful match.  And now we’re here – a little more than a hundred yards from Alan’s house – celebrating Walker and Alan’s wedding. It’s going well, and it will go well. “I can tell you that it’s going well and it will go well because of all the confidence that you have placed in each other.  I can t ..read more

So many plans changed in early 2020.  Just about everything was put on hold.  And for everyone planning a wedding, it was truly a confusing and stressful time.  Even the most well-thought plans with contingencies for everything didn’t stand a chance against the unknown that March 2020 brought.  But the one thing that couldn’t be put on hold was love.  Some of our couples postponed their weddings.  And some of our couples chose to move their weddings outdoors so they could socially distance.  Still, some forged ahead with their initial plans, just scaled back ..read more

So many things get better with age.  Wine and cheese and pretty much anything that comes on a charcuterie.  And love and bourbon.  The great thing about love and bourbon is that they’re both such individualized experiences.  You can be drinking the same bourbon as the person right next to you and have a completely difference experience than they have.  The same thing can be said for love.  And marriage.  It’s all in what you make of the experience. And Callie & George’s wedding was a beautiful experience. Love & Bourbon Callie & George’s Bourbon t ..read more

A lot of times, we only get to hear about some of the most important things to our couples. Like their favorite restaurant spot. Their pets that are more like kids to them. Even their childhood home.  But with Maria and Palmer, things are about to get a little different. Maria + Palmer take us down memory lane The Cosmic Grill, which we’re told has the best White Russians, is one of their favorite restaurants.  So imagine our surprise when we show up there before the wedding.  And what about their dogs?  Absolutely adorable.  The way they looked at Maria in her wedding ..read more

You hear about it all the time.  Guy meets girl, he asks her out.  They date and fall in love.  They get married – high school sweethearts.  It’s such a classic love story, and one we get to witness more often than most.  Addison & Mason are stars in this real-life version of the classic love story.  Traditional high school sweethearts – the cheerleader and the football player – in it for the long haul.  It’s such a beautiful story, and one we love to capture on film to be passed down to future generations.  A story of how a quick conversation in the ..read more

Looking back on Morgan and Will’s wedding reminded me of a rhyme that many women know by heart by the time their wedding day arrives: Something old, something new.  Something borrowed, something blue.  For lots of young girls dreaming of their wedding day, this little rhyme is a checklist that they spend years perfecting.  I’m not sure what Morgan’s version of this checklist was for her wedding day, but we think it went something like this: Old friends to celebrate with. New family to create memories with. Borrowed spaces (we’ll get to this one in a minute). Blue accents all ar ..read more

Anna and Taylor truly had a spectacular wedding in Darlington.  Their ceremony, held at the Darlington Presbyterian Church, was timeless and classic.  The delicate white blooms surrounded by an abundance of greenery created the perfect backdrop for a wedding.  Nothing too showy or extravagant – just a beautifully understated elegance that allows the focus to be on two amazing people joining together in marriage. There was so much joy in that sanctuary, but no one more joyful than the beautiful bride and groom.  In talking with them before the ceremony, they both spoke of ho ..read more

Sarah and William’s wedding was a stunning event.  They held their ceremony at Grace Episcopal Church, and we can’t say enough about how beautiful that church is.  The beautiful blue of the cushions and how bright the church is lends itself to being a beautiful backdrop for a wedding.  It is such a warm and inviting place, although we’re sure a lot of that had to do with the people in it.  To be surrounded with so many happy, smiling faces – that’s how you should enter into your marriage. And I don’t think we saw anyone there who wasn’t smiling or laughing. And the smiles d ..read more

Kayla and Skip held their beautiful ceremony at The Basilica of Saint Peter, right here in Columbia.  We talk a lot about all the beautiful places we get to visit, and I don’t think we’ll ever get tired of weddings at St. Peter’s.  The stunning stained glass windows above the altar illuminate the beautifully detailed floor and immaculate marble at the end of the aisle. Such a perfect backdrop for the beginning of a new life together!  And Kayla and Skip – they say the bride is always glowing on her wedding day, and that was very true of Kayla.  But they never say anything a ..read more
