Greetings, I want to set up a high-performance cluster using Ubuntu Server as the operating system. The problem is that I have never done it before and I don't know where to start. I need the cluster to be able to run simulation codes for physical problems in parallel, which require computational power. Can anyone guide me on how to do it? I have searched for documentation, but there is so much that I end up getting lost, so I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Have a great day ..read more

Optimum, safest way to migrate one user to another - 20.04

20.04, effectively a kubuntu system. User 'adam' (/home/adam) uses a KDE Plasma desktop. User 'glen' (/home/glen) uses a Gnome MATE desktop. I need to migrate daily use of 'adam' (settings, program data, etc.) to 'glen'. I think data stored outside /home/xxxx will require considerable "chown & chgrp" operations. For example, the files & subdirs on an external HD/partition '/extra' is entirely assigned to user 'adam' with owner 'adam'. I'm not making 'adam' with its /home/adam go away. But I want to change which user is utilized daily, which will eventually be 'glen'. Is there a guided ..read more

Trying to run some az pipeline commands. First tried using the AzureCLI task but that did not work due to authentication so found this. This process also does not work with: WARNING: Failed to store PAT using keyring; falling back to file storage. WARNING: You can clear the stored credential by running az DevOps logout. WARNING: Refer https://aka.ms/azure-devops-cli-auth to know more on sign in with PAT. When taking the Linux code exactly as is. Used `ubuntu-latest' and then tried ubuntu-16.04 like documentation stated the same result. However, I also went through some links of Microsoft and D ..read more

Hi friends, fresh installed Ubuntu bare metal 6xNICs machine, new network profile for any of the nics creates a new profile for ALL the nics. The problem is all the network settings are copied to all the nics. I mean when you have an ethernet card every interface has different network settings but here does not work in that way. If i delete that profile in one of the nics, then it dissapears not only for that interface but for all interfaces. No way to create a new profile only for one of the nics, the profile is created for all of them at the same time, and the network settings for that new p ..read more

I keep getting "permission denied" errors. I think it might be related to my open SSH settings

I'm trying to setup NginxProxyManager with Docker on Ubuntu in the Terminal in order to add security to my server, but I keep getting "permission denied" errors. I'm new to Ubuntu and I'm learning through trial and error. I managed to setup Open SSH and I think that might be why I don't have permission to use certain commands. But I don't know how to get access. I have an ssh key and I know my port number. That's just a theory, though. I don't know my why I'm getting the error but I'm trying to find out so that I can fix it. Any guidance and instructions are welcome. Thank you ..read more

Is CMake part of Android Studio?

Is CMake part of Android Studio? When I tried to do a Gradle Sync in Android Studio, I got an error that the CMake is too early a version and I need to update it. But I get this error even if I uninstall CMake. This tells me that CMake must be embedded somehow in Android Studio. So, how can I fix this? Please help. This happens even if I remove cmake from the command line. So it seems that cmake is embedded into Android Studio. So how do I update cmake if it is part of Android Studio somehow? When running the Gradle Sync command in Android Studio I get an error message that the CMake is outdat ..read more
