For better results in building healthy relationships with others, if tensions start to build, and there’s a temptation to get emotional and angry, put a check on the human ego.   Be wise to not react with negative human emotions.   Pray first (it can be a quick prayer), find peace, and respond with truth and love.  The outcome will be far better for everyone ..read more

Life is the route to a better experience, not death

To a woman wanting to end her life because of misery and suffering, I said, “Death does not take you to a better place.  Life does!  God is your Life.  There is no better place to experience the good Life God has given you to live, than here and now.”  Her thought turned around.  She started to find her joy again, and a desire to end her life disappeared. It’s a misleading argument to believe death is a pathway to life.  Death means “the end, no more life.”   If death really existed, then there is nothing more afterward.   But thankfully, Jesus ..read more

Many people worry about whether they are in the right place.  Maybe they don’t like their job, yearn to live at a different address, or even wonder whether they are married to the right person.   What can we do when we feel like we’re not in our right place? One way to find a resolution of our concerns, is to identify place in spiritual terms. The ultimate place to be is with God.  God is the source of all goodness, love, happiness, worth, peace of mind, and health.  When we have God, we have everything we need to flourish no matter what address we presently occupy, or ..read more

Treat sickness as error, not truth

If someone walked up to you, looked you in the eye, and declared, “You have two noses on your face,” would you spend time trying to get rid of the second nose?  Or would you defend the integrity of your face by declaring, “I have one nose on my face,” and then let the observer know that they were wrong. The same rule applies to healing sickness.   When mortal mind yells, “You have a sickness,” the quickest route to freedom is to know your spiritual truth.  To be clear that you are a spiritual being living in the body of Spirit which is permanently healthy.   If fe ..read more

Clean out any brood of evil

If mortals would keep proper ward over mortal mind, the brood of evils which infest it would be cleared out. ~ Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 234 The phrase “brood of evils,” sounds ominous, but it is critical to remember that you are not mortal mind.  The brood of evils found in mortal mind are not your creation or content to carry around and live out. As a child of God, divine Mind is your Mind, and it’s filled with God’s goodness, spiritual inspiration and heavenly truth. Jesus faced mortal mind’s “brood of evils,” in the form of hatred, jealousy, ma ..read more

Keep images of disease out of thought

One should never hold in mind the thought of disease, but should efface from thought all forms and types of disease, both for one’s own sake and for that of the patient. ~ Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 396 If you want to stay healthy, keep your mind so filled with truth and love, that no images of disease can ever sneak in and take up residence. The human body merely images impressions of thought governing that body.  A mind filled with spiritual outlook and spiritual truth has a very positive impact on the body.  Images of disease have the opposi ..read more

Practice until you can’t get it wrong

A reader, who is an accomplished musician, shared this thought with me: An amateur practices until he can play it right whereas a professional practices until he can’t play it wrong. I love this truth when considering the practice of Christian Science.   To practice Christian Science is to practice the laws of God which enable us to live in harmony with God, with Life, Truth and Love.  The more we practice, the better we are putting those laws into practice.  And we keep practicing until we can’t help but get it right every time.  Thus, no more mistakes ..read more

Walk in the Spirit…. ~ Galatians 5:16 If you’d like to walk with a buoyant step, a happy heart, and a light load, be sure to walk in Spirit. Spirit knows no physical limits.  Spirit is God, infinite being, unlimited Life. Thought inspired by Spirit sees boundless freedom ahead of it. To walk in Spirit is to listen for spiritual ideas and then act on them.  Every step is an inspired step, teeming with love and gratitude.  Walking in Spirit is not the same thing as trying to walk in matter.  Trying to walk in matter focuses thought on muscles, bones, and physicality ..read more
