If you want a funny, sweet, fast-moving novel about characters you will LOVE, I’ve got it. I just read it. And I fell in LOVE with it. It’s soooo good. It’s titled “Just for the Summer” by Abby Jimenez. It’s the perfect way to start the summer season. It’s that breath-of-fresh-air book that you’ll keep thinking about long after it’s over. This is also a GREAT book to listen to on audio. I’m so picky about narrator voices, but the multiple narrators in this novel were so good at capturing the spirit of the book. I listened to this novel in the car, while doing laundry, loading the dishwasher, t ..read more

Mamas, we ran across a fascinating article on The New Yorker magazine website that takes an in-depth look at why more girls are hitting puberty early, as well as the impact it has on girls and parents, too. Studies show that the pandemic ushered in a wave of early puberty that doctors are trying to understand. Click HERE to read The New Yorker article written by Jessica Winter.  We hope this article is useful to moms in Northwest Arkansas as some of us help our daughters through a big experience at what may be a much younger age than expected. We’ve all been there — spent several hours organizing the kitchen (or bathroom, garage, playroom, closets, etc.), but then six months later, it’s a mess all over again. Why won’t all those organization efforts last for longer than it takes for a kid to outgrow his shoes? WHY?! We’ve been asking this question for years. That’s why this article on the RealSimple magazine website jumped out at us. In this article titled “Here’s Why Your Home Doesn’t Stay Organized,” profess ..read more

Those yellow-bellied dusty devils are at it again. They’ve launched their annual full-scale attack, and no amount of antihistamines can stop them. If you’re whipping tissues out of the box faster than a Wild West gunslinger, you’re not alone. My whole family has been doing it for weeks. All of us, even the dogs, have to line up for a daily Zyrtec. We do regular snorts of allergy nasal spray. And it’s all because of the catkins. Let me formally introduce you to a meddling little menace you’ve probably seen for years but never knew its name. Catkins are those fuzzy, yellowish-brown strings that ..read more
