A Sanctified Art Blog
by Anna Strickland

As our faith journey takes us down wandering paths, the words we grew up singing and the old, familiar melodies have a way of tethering our hearts to the God who wanders with us. Here we’ve collected hymns and songs that work well with our Wandering Heart Lent series, which follows Simon Peter’s wandering journey as he follows Jesus from the shores of the Sea of Galilee to the empty tomb and back again. We hope these lists help you as you’re planning meaningful worship services for the Lenten season. (Note: While we do not own the licensing rights to these songs—other than the hymns and theme ..read more

We do this to provide cohesive and comprehensive materials for a full liturgical season. However, this means we now have many individual resources from past seasons that could be meaningful and useful any year. Here’s an insider’s guide for our best resources for Advent and Christmas. How does a weary world rejoice? Star Words Liturgy
A Sanctified Art Blog
by Sarah A. Speed

Our new Advent series follows the opening stories in the Gospel of Luke and invites us to respond to this question: How does a weary world rejoice? In the parallel birth stories of Jesus and John, joy arrives—despite trepidation, fear, or grief. In these stories, we find rhythms for rejoicing. As we move through Advent, we hope to create space for acknowledging the weariness of our world while celebrating God’s closeness with great joy. If you are using these resources this Advent, you will see that we are concluding the series with Baptism of the Lord Sunday (Luke 3:21-22). We’ve eliminated t ..read more

How does a weary world rejoice? Prayers for Epiphany
A Sanctified Art Blog

Our newest Advent series invites joy to take up more space in our lives. How does a weary world rejoice? follows the opening stories in Luke 1-3; in them, we find rhythms for rejoicing, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. In order to stay in Luke’s narrative, we have omitted the story of the Magi and traditional celebrations of Epiphany from this series. Instead, we conclude the series with Baptism of the Lord Sunday (and our bundle includes full liturgy for this day). In this way, the series follows the birth stories of Jesus and John the Baptist, and culminates with John baptizing ..read more
