Most pharmacists don’t include resume writing in their list of hobbies nor is it their idea of an exciting weekend at home. The problem isn’t having to sit down and actually write out your professional life in 2 pages or less; that’s the easy part. The true challenge is writing the perfect pharmacist resume that captures the hiring manager’s attention in 30 seconds flat. With the number of applicants rising, the whole process of finding and landing a pharmacist job can feel pretty daunting, especially as a new grad pharmacist. Hopefully in today’s post, I can give you some guidance that’ll hel ..read more

Graduating from pharmacy school is a huge accomplishment, and it’s one that you’ll want to relish in. After graduation, it’s very common for new pharmacists (I’m guilty of this too!) to celebrate for a day or two before jumping right into studying for our licensure exams and starting our careers. Just like any other field, landing your first job out of college can be tough, mentally exhausting, and just a tad bit humbling. It can take new grads 3 to 6 months before landing their first job, so don’t feel bad if you don’t have a job lined up before you walk across the stage. Instead of rushing t ..read more

Hey! What’s been happening? It’s so good to chat with you again! I feel like it’s been forever and a day since I last sat down and wrote a blog post. So much has changed since I last did one of these that I’m really not sure where to even begin. Life is really good. It’s crazy to think about how different my life looks right now compared to last year and the year before when I was slaving away in retail. This year, I’ve been doing a lot of internal healing, finding a new balance, and overall, just giving myself grace to explore and learn. If you didn’t see the announcement on my social media ..read more

I can’t imagine my life without a book in my hands anymore. Sticking to a consistent reading habit has improved my mental health in so many ways. Whenever I pick up a new book, it’s like walking into your own personal happy place. I’m calm, excited, and comforted by the prospect of a new adventure. But what I realized is that reading for fun isn’t as common as you may think. Many people are struggling to find the right book for them and the time to read, once they do discover a potential book. Taking a hiatus from reading is a normal part of life, and It’s nothing to feel bad about it. I just ..read more

Winter Getaway: Things to Do in Miami

Before visiting Miami, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve been to Miami as a teenager with my parents but never as an adult. I had seen photos of wild vacations in Miami during my college days so I knew that it had a lively nightlife, but beyond that, I really didn’t know much about it. And now that I’ve spent 7 full days in Miami alongside my hubby, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! We both really liked Miami even though it is indeed an expensive and flashy city. The beaches were gorgeous, the colorful street art was a dream to explore, and the strong Cuban influence felt like ..read more

What I Read in April + May 2022

May has been such a busy month. Between moving, starting new work projects, and adjusting to living in a new area, it feels like I haven’t taken a break to fully relax in weeks. So here we are going into June, and I’m just now going through April and May reads. I figured we might as well lump the two together since I’m so behind.  I’m hoping to get into a better routine so that I can get back into blogging regularly again as I miss writing and creating just for fun. In April, I finally finished the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, and I’m so sad that the series is over! When I first pic ..read more

NAPLEX Prep: What to Do Before the Exam

To say that the summer after pharmacy school is not only stressful but an emotional time for pharmacy grads, that would be putting it lightly. You’re not only studying for your licensure boards (NAPLEX, MPJE, and maybe even the CPJE), but you may be starting a residency program or fighting through hundreds of job applications in a crowded market. I remember that dreadful summer of anxiety, automatic emails stating that an employer isn’t interested, and the dread of having to study for the biggest exams of my career. No pressure, right? I figure I’d help lighten the load a little by sharing a f ..read more

What I Read in March 2022

I promise I have more posts in the works outside of my monthly book reviews. These last few months have been very chaotic to say the least, which I can’t wait to share my new career path and what I’m transitioning too. It’s literally perfect for me, and I’m so thankful to be starting a new job in April. In the month of March, I read 3 books, one of which was a straight “no” for me – mostly because I’m really not sure what I even read. The other two were pretty good and kept me intrigued throughout the stories.   Turn on your JavaScript to view content   The Bear and the Nightingale ..read more

What I Read in February 2022

I’m not going to lie that this month of reads were mostly a major letdown. Only two of the seven books I picked up were books I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to a friend. I started off the month with Cinderella is Dead by Kaylnn Bayron, which was a book I was looking forward to reading. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype and was a letdown. There was also All the Stars and Teeth and A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, both were the winners this month. I devoured them within a few days because I was memorized by both the story and the writing. Turn on your JavaScript to view conte ..read more
