I am in the process of replacing old galvinized pipe with copper, but I'm also considering using the Ace Duraflow system of an epoxy coating inside the galvinized pipes. Has anyone used the product before? What are the pros and cons of the epoxy coating? Any help would be greatly appreciated ..read more

Symmons 071 toe tester spout for shower. Know of it first-hand?

There is no manual available that describes its usage. One source says you turn it. Open, turning on the water at the shower control mixing valve, on the wall above, we want water to go through the toe tester spout, and only switch to it diverting to the ceiling showerhead when warm water is flowing. But turning it would have water flow spouting sideways? And does it return to open (not diverting) when the mix valve is turned to OFF... Symmons 071 toe tester spout for shower. Tankless turbine spins when cold water shut off

New rinnai tankless install. Weird issue - as the cold water is turned OFF, the turbine in the tankless spins up briefly (1-2 seconds) as if there's a call demand from the hot faucet, and then the turbine shuts off. What's doubly strange is that you can flush the lavatory in one of the bathrooms, and so that tank fills with cold. If you turn the cold tap on to wash your hands, while the tap is running when the lav tank has filled and STOPS its flow, the turbine will fire up briefly even... tankless turbine spins when cold water shut off ..read more

I'm in the middle of a repipe and redoing the dwv at the moment. I've got a situation where my waste from my bathroom needs to do a 180 to tie into the lines going to the city. Right now I have a 3" combo on the line going to the street, and 2 street 45's to that to tie in from above and its slightly rolled. Trying to determine if this is too many bends or if there is a better solution ..read more

Have a residential job that calls for the master to be a steam shower. We've done plenty of these in the past but it's been a minute. We've put in kohler steam generators most recently and that is what the architect spec'd here but like everything it seems from kohler these days they turned out to be total junk that just resulted in call backs. Steamist we've put in before as well and never heard back on any issues, I even have one at my house, however like anything good they got purchased... Steam Generator Recommendations ..read more

Anyone have any recommendations for a shower door (standard 5' shower installed that replaced a tub) that does not have glass in it. While I suggested that the glass in shower doors is safety tempered glass, that wasn't acceptable because of a disability concern. I'd love to find an option or two to show them but am just coming up blank...anyone have any thoughts ..read more

Looking for recommendations for Non Toto toilets

My customers and I have had it with Toto toilets, does anyone have a recommendation for a good 1 piece skirted toilet that is not a Toto? Way too many issues with failures after 3 or 4 years, obsolete parts after 4 years etc. Anyone who is planing on using the Toto Aquia good luck, they can't get parts for the toilets they are selling right now. Side handled toilets are almost as bad, many are changing out the toto flush and fill valves with whatever fits. But on the Aquia it can not be...
