Hi Everyone, Overall I have a good relationship with my parents but they keep doing things that upset me, it happens once every couple of months, so quite frequent if you ask me. I have siblings, my brother has a mild disability, he doesn't see that well and can't drive, but he is married with kid, has a job, I don't really think he needs special treatment but my parents always act like he has it so hard and he and his wife always get top priority, always. My parents bought him a house, then... Ideas on how to punish parents ..read more

Long and short is my wife never had gotten acceptance from her own mom. That same woman ended up killing herself with a botched, botches suicide attempting to manipulate us when we tried to establish reasonable and healthy boundaries. Her dad lives a very sheltered life a few hours away and never makes any sort of time for her. While my wifes relationships with her parents has been nothing but a constant slap in the face, I fear that how she is handling our kids is going to have me making... Growing up my sister always called our mom “mama ” ( edited for privacy, but it was actually my sister’s middle name because when she was little she thought everyone had the same middle name). Fast forward twenty years, my sister gives our parents their first grandchild a year before my daughter was born. Since our own maternal grandmother went by the nickname “mama [shortened given name]”, my sister and mom decided to try keep with the precedence and have her grandmother nickname... Good day folks. New here and looking for advice. I’ll try and make this as short and to the point as possible. My youngest son has been with a girl for close to a year. She’s caught him in a few lies. The most recent being hiding “intimate” photos of another girl he had met prior to their relationship. My oldest son is now “seeing” this same girl who has admitted sharing these pics with his brother. While he is ok with what happened between the two of them, the younger brothers gf, who was... I know this varies by culture, but for discussion, asking both men and ladies, when married, is carry on the family name and genes important to you? especially your the only son or if you married to one. And I also mean by have children after marriage, to carry on your genes. I just want to hear your view just for discussion of the topic of having children after married, as I can assure "majority" of men would want to carry on their family name and thei genes especially when they are the... Hi everyone, thanks in advance for reading and providing your insights. My wife and I (40f, 40m), just had our first child in January. Our son came several weeks early and she didn't have the easiest delivery. I was sick with the flu the week prior to birth, she spent 3-days being induced but in the end, she ended up having a C-section, spent several days in the hospital but when we discharged she ended back in the hospital with a severe case of the flu. So to say she had a stressful... Newborn Stress ..read more

Let’s say one of the parents works long distance and the other not far at all. The one that works close by doesn’t even work a full 8 hours a day because they have to be there for the youngest child. The one who works far says I don’t want to have to do anything during the week (no hw, no reading, no baths, doesn’t cook) because it’s very exhausting to travel and work the full 8 hours and even sometimes overtime. Obviously the one who works closer has all those responsibilities, even help... Agree or disagree ..read more

I'm second time married now and have 2 wonderful step children. I had a step child in my former marriage but we didn't bond. I was concerned that experience would overflow into this one and discussed it with my husband at length before we married. For those that have read my previous posts, the kids' Mother is an alcoholic. She has lost all parenting time with them and is only allowed video calls. She manages those maybe once a month also. She is making no steps to address her... I'd like to adopt my step children ..read more
