Just a thought that hit me this morning: What does a 3-game preseason look like? With 4 games it seemed to be (and yes, I'm grossly over simplifying): #1: Welcome to the season: Starters get a little time, but mostly about getting everyone some actual game time. #2: Welcome, part II: Starters might get a bit more time, might work on some specific packages. #3: Dress rehearsal: Starters play the first half, sometimes more. #4: Garbage time: Starters get very little, if any time.  Mostly about bottom of the roster guys. Offseason is over. It’s football time again. This thread will serve to discuss developments in training camp and then discuss the preseason games. I think Goff surprises everyone and the Lions pull out 8 wins this year. They end up riding the Offensive Line to some surprise wins as well and Swift becomes a pro-bowler for the Lions.  I don't think they'll have a top 5 draft pick heading into the next draft and don't even draft a QB next year. Just curious on some of ya'lls input on this. Why do you think the Lions will stink? They are projected to be one of worst 3 teams in the league by ESPN and Sports Illustrated. They should have an incredible Offensive line, great D line, good secondary with Okudah second year. Yes Goff is drawing screams from everyone, but the dude did get to the playoffs and was a #1 overall pick not too long ago. I'm not down on him nearly as bad as others are. He could be totally rejuvenated by moving cities. There's got to be a reason LA gave him that boatload of a contract. I cant imagine they'd just give ..read more
