I know this is kinda selfish on my part seeing what the people who live in southwest Florida are going through right now but I saw on the news last night Boca Grande island got destroyed. This is where my wife and I always spend the month of February and where all the posts came from last year. Sucks I had that place dialed in too. Catching specs all month and multiple fish fry's. We used to put in here a lot fishing with my uncle in the 90s, anyone been there recently? Hard to find any info on the web about it but I hear maybe could be very shallow at low tide. I usually put in at the jrb and run down to hampton bar but would be nice to be a little closer. Done that run a few times and the wind turned while we were out and we took a pounding on the way back. My 18’ sea pro cc isnt very keen on any kind of rough sea. Had a very enjoyable charter trip today. My financial advisor likes to fish and invited myself a few of his clients out for a day of fishing. We left Kentmorr marina on Chasin Tail Charters. Fished north of the bridge and moved around a good bit but we managed a nice limit of solid fish. (Live lining). 10/9/24 I caught more white perch then cat fish this morning. Not a lot of perch but more then cats. No pictures I threw all of them back. I don't think the cats are leaving. Just a bad fishing morning for me. Good to see the perch still shallow ..read more

Waited to launch until 10 am - figured give the wind a chance to die down. Coming into Sandy Point near the gate - saw what I thought was a deer darting across road. Instead - guy on a bicycle going wrong way on road. I was able to swerve to avoid him - not brightest thing to do on a bike. Got to ramp and saw tide very low - odd since should have been nearing high tide. Guy on jet ski came barreling in - like 20 knots. Ummm , minimum wake area - buddy.
