of James Urquhart and Elizabeth Bicester
Avaialble on Amazon Kindle
From February 2023
Beware of Fairies Bearing Gifts is a short story from the Time Travel Diaries of James Urquhart and Elizabeth Bicester which I wrote just before Christmas 2022.
In summer, the veranda of Elizabeth’s house at Hamgreen in West Sussex is a perfect place for weary time-travellers to relax and watch the Martian sunset.
It was also perfect place for James to ask a question of Elizabeth which he had not got round to asking,
Who was her mother?

A lot of strange things have been attached to Nikola Tesla on the internet including time travel and communications with Mars.
The most famous is in a New York Herald in March 1895
Tesla, while conducting an experiment, was nearly electrocuted and had an “Out of time” experience where he could see a little way into the future and the past.
A New York Herald reporter wrote on March 13 that he came across the inventor in a small café, shortly afterwards, looking shaken after being hit by 3.5 million volts,
“I am afraid,” said Tesla, “that you won’t find me a pleasant companion tonight. The fact ..read more

I’ve been selling my books of the The Time Travel Diaries of James Urquhart and Elizabeth Bicester on Amazon Kindle since 2015.
So, I thougt it might be worth looking at how well I’ve done on sales.
Luckily this isn’t my day job!
Advertising the Time Travel Diaries
Firstly I haven’t spent a penny on advertising, publishing or graphics on KINDLE.
And apart from advertising on Facebook Groups and Twitter, the only other incentive to buy has been to give them away FREE on AMAZON KDP SELECT.
However, I’ve created an Authors Page on Amazon (FREE) and put all my books on Goodreads.
This “excellent ..read more

Short stories from the humorous and sometimes romantic time travel diaries of James Urquhart, a science lecturer, who lived in 2015 and Elizabeth Bicester, Victorian Cambridge graduate, whom he met at cricket match in 1873.
Time travel is fraught with difficulties.
Your timelines might cross, and you meet yourself or you may get caught in a temporal eddy from which there is no escape.
Even worse, you could be transported to a distant past on Mars and asked to save it from destruction.
When it gets too much you can always take a qu ..read more

The cover for my new book from the Time Travel Diaries of James Urquhart and Elizabeth Bicester. The Time Palace of Mars.
If you are taking your Victorian wife to a Car Wash for the first time, it’s a good idea to explain beforehand that the long blue furry cloths banging on the windows are not aliens trying to abduct her.
This will give you more time to think of a reason why both of you are suddenly transported to a Palace on Mars where Time stands still and you’re surrounded by twelve strangely magical statues of mythological Gods.
Luckily Mr Puddlewick, a bank teller from Threadneedle Stre ..read more

BBC Radio4 09:00 17th October 2019
Melvyn Bragg and guests discuss the ideas explored in HG Wells’ novella, published in 1895, in which the Time Traveller moves forward to 802,701 AD. There he finds humanity has evolved into the Eloi and Morlocks, where the Eloi are small but leisured fruitarians and the Morlocks live below ground, carry out the workand have a different diet. Escaping the Morlocks, he travels millions of years into the future, where the environment no longer supports humanity.
