Blush & Rouge recently opened their new storefront here in Baton Rouge! Let’s take a look inside. You may know Blush & Rouge as the mobile boutique by local blogger Angela Benoit. This September she hosted the grand opening to her storefront – located at 14241 Airline Highway (next to The Little Village). Blush & Rouge is known for its everyday clothing at affordable pricing. Angela’s mantra is “Make it fashionable but budget friendly.” I popped in the store this week, and she’s transitioning from summer to fall and winter. She has lots of sweaters and sweatshirts – including so ..read more

Shop The Area is a new Baton Rouge service that operates like Waitr, but for local boutiques. This means you can shop from your favorite boutique and get your order delivered in as little as an hour. Claire Aillet has spearheaded this concept with the help of her aunt Terri Durr. It’s been a work in progress for over 3 years, but it’s finally launched here in the Baton Rouge area! Shop The Area has two founding boutiques so far – Wanderlust By Abby and Addiction Boutique – with plans to add more boutiques in the coming months. An Apology (And Celebration)

Sunday’s Baton Rouge Boutique Blowout Sale was somehow a train wreck and an epic success all in one. We had our biggest crowd ever, and our boutiques broke sales records. Many earned more in those 5 hours than they ever have at any other event or in a single day. So for that, I thank you for coming out and supporting our local boutiques and making this day one to celebrate. They deserve it after two hard years. However, I also know because of the overwhelming number of customers it wasn’t a great shopping experience. Our space was too small. It was too crowded. Some of you waited over 1.5 hou ..read more

After a year of living in our home, we’re FINALLY making progress on the Master Bedroom! Here’s our “Before” + our plans to redecorate. We were lucky when we moved in last March 2020 that our house didn’t need a ton of work. The world shut down the same weekend we moved in, so we couldn’t do much even if we wanted to. Plus, we were busy planning a wedding. We did a few things like built a new fence, added new door knobs, installed some new light fixtures, etc. But the one room that REALLY needed some work was the Master Bedroom. We’ve left it as-is for a year now with a hodgepodge of our old ..read more
