Hi all,
I used this forum a few years ago to try and recruit participants for my thesis on couns/clin psyc views on gaining prescription rights. I eventually finished my thesis and have since published a condensed article version.
I thought I’d share the paper here as I’m sure some of you took part in my survey (thanks so much if you did). Here’s the link for open access: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10 ... 24.2344788 ..read more

Hello there,
I have been looking for the information I require, however cannot seem to find. If anyone with the information or who can direct me for where I can find it I would appreciate it greatly.
My A-Levels are extremely poor (E, E and U). I experienced a range of difficulties whilst in school and since expect to attain a high 2:1 in my undergraduate degree. Does anyone know which unis still take into account A-Level grades? Also, do we think doing a MSc would prove highly beneficial in this case to demonstrate my academic abilities.
- On a side note, I do personally believe taking int ..read more

Hello,
So I have it in my mind that I can’t start applying to ap roles until I have like at least 2 years of mental health experience, because this is what most people i have come across seem to have, whereas I only have 6 months of support worker experience. And when I’ve asked people if my amount of experience would be enough, they’ve mostly said no.
However, I realise that it’s not the job itself or the amount of time in a support worker type role itself, but the skills you gain. As I am aware that someone could have 5 years of support work experience but not learn much or develop many sk ..read more

Hello my fellow psychology enthusiasts!
I have not previously posted, however, have often used this forum to search a variety of questions I have had; I hope you are able to advise me!
So, I am finishing university as we speak, and expect to receive a high 2:1, however this is not from a very prestigious university (University of South Wales). I have known my goal to be the DClinPsy for a while now, and have about a years experience working as a support worker, whereby the last 7 months I have become a shift leader, within an assisted living home for service users dealing with a variety of m ..read more

Hi,
Regarding being a clinical psychologist, is it a dealbreaker if I don’t want to be involved in restraints and be physically and verbally assaulted on a daily basis?
Because I like parts of my job as a support worker, but there are some parts that I don’t like which is that the service users can often be really rude to me and shout at me etc, and for lack of a better word, can be aggressive towards me. Someone I know, who was pregnant at the time, was also pushed by a service user and is pressing charges. Another person I know had boiling coffee poured over them, and was run at with a kni ..read more

Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for some dinosaur dresses for a special kiddo who's going through a tough time health-wise. She's obsessed with dinos and I reckon a few cute outfits might just bring a smile to her face. Any leads or suggestions? Thanks a ton in advance for any help ..read more

I've been struggling with how to insert myself and my experiences into my Dclinpsy interviews. My feedback from last year's interviews was that I needed to expand more in my interviews but I'm beginning to think I'm not sure what that exactly means. In my most recent interview, I found the questions so specific around certain scenarios and populations that I haven't had much personal experience with, that my answers were very directly answering the question and not inserting my own experience if that makes sense. I left the interview realising that I hadn't even talked about my job roles and e ..read more
