here is the problem https://flic.kr/p/2oGerzX so far I have this: So far I know that the births = .868 of the current Age 0 female population + .4 of the current age 1 female population + .2 of the Age 2 female population somehow we get the survivors of age 1 = .3 of the age 0 births and survivors of age 2 = .2 of the survivors of age 1 therefore survivors of age 2 = .2 *.3 *age 0 births None of this does ANYTHING to help me find the values of the transition matrix... which I assume must be a 3x3 matrix but I cant do that w out an initial population submitted by /u/Zealousideal-Play353 [visi ..read more

A homeowner wishes to enclose a rectangular garden with one side of the garden lying along a creek with a straight shoreline. The homeowner wishes to know the dimensions of the garden with maximum area that can be enclosed for a total of \$1000. The fencing alongside the creek needs to be sturdier than the rest of the fencing. As a consequence, the fencing alongside the creek costs \$20 per foot while the remaining fence costs \$8 per foot. What are the dimensions of the garden with a maximum area that can be enclosed? submitted by /u/themeatmanofpink [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
