Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports From the Bayou to the Big Apple LSU has been on a run of producing first round wide receivers: Odell Beckham, Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase...and now we can add Malik Nabers to that list. Nabers was picked sixth overall by the New York Giants. Nabers left LSU as one of the greatest receivers in program history. Nabers is the LSU career leader in receptions (198) and yards (3,003) and his 21 touchdown receptions is good for seventh. Once upon a time the Giants took an LSU receiver in the first round and that worked out pretty well. Will history repeat itself 10 year ..read more

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports Does Jayden Daniels go 2 or 3? Can Malik Nabers overtake Marvin Harrison Jr.? How high will Brian Thomas go? Late April is always one of the best times of year on the sports calendar: you’ve got the NBA and NHL playoffs, baseball at the pro and college level is underway, but all those things end up getting dwarfed by the NFL. The NFL Draft kicks off tonight in Detroit. Last year’s draft was a down year from an LSU perspective, but this year the program will be well represented. The trio of Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr. are all expected to go in t ..read more

Photo by Carmen Mandato/Getty Images A salute to John Emery The post-spring transfer portal opened up for college football last week and LSU—like every program across the nation— has seen a couple of players put their names into the portal. Rising sophomore Jaxon Howard was the first to put his name in when the portal opened. The Minnesota native has since transferred back home and will play for the Golden Gophers this season. The defensive end was Minnesota’s No. 1 overall player in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Fellow sophomore Khai Prean put his name in on April 17. The St. James product will ..read more

Update: *Malik Nabers* is the Best LSU Receiver Prospect Ever

Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty Images When I wrote the same about Ja’Marr Chase it was true, but what if someone did even more? It’s not crazy to say it. Yes, Ja’Marr Chase has become the most recent shining example of a rare WR prospect, but despite this, WRU has done it again. Malik Nabers is at or above that level. This isn’t to dunk on Chase, but it’s a necessary reminder while he was a sensational prospect, he wasn’t necessarily the Connor McDavid, LeBron James, or Peyton Manning of receivers. There’s no questioning Chase’s dominance at LSU, but he relied more on physicality and conteste ..read more

Former Tiger and current Minnesota Timberwolf Naz Reid was voted the NBA’s 6th Man of the Year after a career-year for Reid. Reid averaged a career-best 13,5 points and 5.2 rebounds, and he was a key piece to helping Minnesota achieve its second-best record in franchise history (56-26). Got there! The dream is real. After decades of waiting, hoping, praying that we could see this moment, it’s real, D-D’s baby is finally a champion. LSU clobbered its way to a national title Saturday with a 198.2250 to beat Cal, Utah and Florida and earn their spot as the eighth program with an NCAA women’s gymnastics championship. This won’t be a typical breakdown of the meet itself, that’ll come in due time. I’m going to use this as a chance to let out how I feel and why it meant so much to me to the point where I learned what tears of joy feel like. For those of you who read this, you get w ..read more

LSU Baseball WE’RE BACK Our long national nightmare is over: LSU won a conference series. After dropping their first five SEC weekends, the Tigers (25-16, 5-13) went on the road to CoMo and took two out of three against Missouri. LSU got off to a good start as the Tigers run-ruled the Other Tigers 12-1 on Friday. Gage Jump pitched the best game of his collegiate career as he went all seven innings and struck out 14. Jump’s efforts were recognized as the SEC’s pitcher of the week. “I was a great performance by Gage and a great win for our team,” Jay Johnson said after Friday’s game. “Gage contr ..read more

The only thing left to do is kill it They’ve gotten there, now it’s time to bring it home. The LSU Tigers gymnastics team is in the national championship finals for the second consecutive year and 10th time overall. It’s felt like a season of destiny, and Oklahoma’s meltdown in the semifinals has only added to that feeling. That doesn’t mean this is a given, as #3 Cal, #4 Florida and #5 Utah all have eyes on the prize, too. No matter what happens, there will be a new national champion head coach(es). The meet begins at 3:00 p.m. on ABC with John Roethlisberger and Aly Raisman on the call and ..read more
