Positionless Offense is Here
It’s often stated that football is a cyclical game. Ways of thinking rise, fall, rise again, and fall again. Despite this unavoidable truth, ideas change as they resurface. Integrating lessons learned from previous cycles, tactics that return do so in modified form. Some evolutionary outcomes cannot be fully rewound, even as they are countered. As we discussed last year, offenses in the sport have encountered a problem. Defenses have adjusted to offenses that can spread them out. Previously, teams never invested enough, whether it be through the draft ..read more

Tigers add a second wide receiver to its 2025 class
Fresh off of adding five-star cornerback DJ Pickett, LSU added a second blue chip prospect to its 2025 recruiting class this week.
Four-star wide receiver Derek Meadows out of Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas committed to the Tigers on Saturday. Meadows picked LSU over SEC rival Alabama, and Brian Kelly’s old stomping grounds Notre Dame.
“To be the best you must outwork the rest and LSU was the place to do it,” Meadows said.
Depending on what recruiting service you subscribe to, Meadows is either a mid/high four-star or a five-star. 247 has him ra ..read more

Talkin’ season
SEC Media Days have come and gone (wait was that this week?) and now that the circus has left Dallas the media’s preseason predictions are rolling out.
If the predictions come true it looks like 2024 will be a good but maybe not great year for LSU. The Tigers were picked to finish 5th in the new-look SEC behind Georgia, Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss, with the Dawgs and Longhorns predicted to face off in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game. As a reminder there are no more divisions in the SEC, so the top two teams at the ..read more

Tanks for the memories
With the MLB Draft beginning Sunday night, it is just about time to close the book on Tommy White’s LSU career. Despite only being a Tiger for two of his three collegiate seasons, he is unquestionably an LSU legend. He did many things well on the diamond, but we will remember him for his special ability to do one thing in particular:
Hit the baseball really freaking far.
He already earned the Tommy Tanks nickname before the transfer portal dropped him into Baton Rouge, so naturally the expectations were gargantuan. Two 24-homer seaso ..read more
