Today is the launch of the 15th edition of the State of the Sector survey by Gallagher, providing insights into how the internal communication sector is looking.
With over 2000 respondents from across the globe taking part, the State of the Sector is one of the key resources for understanding the barriers and priorities for in-house communicators. We often reference the report in our Masterclasses and use it to help our clients and comms friends know they aren’t alone with some of the challenges they are facing.

Last week I had the pleasure of working alongside an Employee Comms team to host a bespoke day for them.
During the course of our conversations I touched on the topic of knowledge management.
We rarely discuss it in the wonderful world of internal communication. However, there’s amazing opportunities to be had when you unlock it.
I’ve been a guest speaker on the Institute of Internal Communication’s Masters in Internal Communication Management course for about seven years. I talk about knowledge management and collaboration in my session.
A quote I love sharing in my talks is from the former&n ..read more

When is the last time you sat in a room with other internal communicators?
Perhaps you’re fortunate enough to have a team and regularly spend time working with each other.
Whether in-person or in a virtual room, you can’t beat listening to and communicating with peers.
One of my favourite methods of listening to others and asking for advice is Masterminds. I’ve been using them in my work since attending a conference for entrepreneurs in 2017, run by Chris Ducker.
