Today, 8 March, is International Women’s Day and to mark this special day, we’re celebrating the fantastic women behind Friends of Rosie.  As a volunteer led charity, we simply couldn’t do what we do without the support of our network of volunteers, Trustees, and scientific advisors. And so today, we want to shout out to all the women within those groups who give their time, commitment and support to Friends of Rosie.  Without them we wouldn’t be able to fund the vital childhood cancer research projects that make a difference to children with cancer.  And most of these fantas ..read more

On Saturday 9 December we joined forces with three other fantastic children’s cancer charities to host a special Christmas party for the children of Ward 86 at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.  It was a truly wonderful day, not only because it gave the children and their families some time away from the ward to create some special memories together. But also because it demonstrated the kindness of so many people in coming together and volunteering their time, support and money to make this event a success.  From the venue space, which was kindly donated by Bruntwood SciTec ..read more

As a small charity, we know that we’ll have far greater impact if we collaborate with others. That col ..read more

Friends of Rosie

Friends of Rosie has joined forces with another like-minded charity, Megan’s Rose of Hope, to fund research into the use of a revolutionary new blood test to diagnose Ewing Sarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer. In 1 in 4 children or young people with Ewing Sarcoma there is little chance of survival because the cancer has already spread by the time it is detected with present methods. We have jointly awarded £70,000 for a second year of research looking for a reliable diagnostic blood test. The first year’s research was also funded by Friends of Rosie in partnership with another children’s cance ..read more
