We recently got home from a journey to the southern hemisphere for the all joys of the salty sea, an unforgiving sun, and barefoot life. Hellooo, Sunshine Coast!
My knowledge of Oz is quite extensive now, and after visiting many times throughout different stages of life, I have a full list of must-do’s. This February, we flew directly from the U.S. to Brisbane, the third largest city in Australia and capital of Queensland. The Sunshine Coast is the stunning region that stretches from Caloundra (near Brisbane) and north to the Great Sandy National Park (just north of Noosa). Alex’s family ..read more

10 Healthy Dinner Recipes
The idea of meal prep and cooking extravagant dinners can be daunting – especially when in the throws of life with two kids. Between getting the girls to activities, working, traveling, maintaining a social life, and, of course, just being tired after waking up with a newborn, cooking can be the last thing on my mind. Alex genuinely loves it and doesn’t take the easy way out (frozen pizza, anyone?) which is why he’s the chef in our house!

Nearly all of the best hotels in the South Island are perched amongst insanely beautiful views out every window. Is it a green screen? A page out of a coffee table book? Could be…but this time I was able to witness them in person on different trips to the southern hemisphere. I love a good rating so I took a page out of hotels.com book and did a little review for each below.

My heart longs for the mountains, glacial lakes, and adventure around every corner. If you throw a dart at a map, the chances of it landing on New Zealand are slim to none because in reality, New Zealand is a small blip in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. In my humble opinion, the harder to get to, the better.
Things to Do in Queenstown With Kids

Denver International airport is a short flight from Arkansas and a gateway to an adult playground in the winter. Think skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowshoeing, apres ski and snuggles by the fireplace. On quite a few occasions, we’ve boarded a flight for a quick weekend away on the slopes. Here’s my gift to you: a complete 3-day itinerary, no agent fees required.

Celebrations are aplenty as mom-to-be revels in the glow of impending motherhood, showered with love and gifts, while the expecting parents diligently prepare for the homecoming of their newest family member. Amidst the excitement surrounding baby registry items, birth plans, and parenting strategies, there’s one crucial aspect often left unexplored – the postpartum recovery plan. The postpartum phase, spanning from 6 weeks to 6 months after birth, marks a pivotal period of healing. This timeframe, extending until mom nears her new normal, holds so much importance for the short-term and long-t ..read more

Southern hospitality is engrained in me, and my mother is and always will be the goal hostess. I’ve learned a thing or two about entertaining from her, and I’m no stranger to holding the title of “host” myself as I’ve hosted many, many women on adventures around the world. Once the party is moved home and there are no new faces in sight, however, I tend to feel like I’m in a brand new role. Add in a couple of family dynamics or screaming kids, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed.

As December 25 nears, there’s an undeniable sparkle in the air—a magical anticipation for much more than presents. Nora is old enough to start to understand Santa and Lily is still newborn sleepy enough to dress up and snuggle up, making this holiday season the most special one yet. As a parent, it’s time to start our own traditions. This year we went all out with Christmas decorations at home on December 1. Then we sprinkled Nora’s room with some special Christmas joy in the form of subtle but sweet Christmas decor. There’s something truly special about creating a festive haven within the coz ..read more

Nursery Reveal
I wanted Lily’s space to be warm and inviting with boho pieces mixed in. Apart from that, I couldn’t really get a clear vision, so I brought in some help. Tobi Fairley is an award-winning designer and has put her magic touches on my parents’ houses from Fort Smith to Little Rock over the last 20 years. When we first met about designing this nursery, I could tell her what I didn’t want…but not so much what I did want. She certainly had her work cut out for her!
