Our third annual free dentistry day was a great success! Our Free Dentistry Day was on Saturday, September 30th and was a great success. This is our third year doing this event, and this year we treated approximately 55 patients and provided about $20,000 of free dental care! It was amazing to be able to help so many people and to see the smiles on everyone's faces, both those who got treatment, and those who volunteered to provide it. A new study from Germany came out last month that confirmed what we have long suspected to be the case with your patients- that power toothbrushes are more effective than manual toothbrushes at reducing diseases of the gums. This was an 11 year study that involved more than 1500 individuals. Interestingly although the study results show a decrease in the disease levels of those who used power toothbrushes vs manual tooth brushes, the type of toothbrush used didn't influence the amount of cavities the participants use.
