I recently put up a greenhouse, and as I'm new to that game, this year will be trial and error. That said, I think I made an error. Since I'm not confident in my seed starting abilities, I purchased a few tomato plants and put them in a container in the greenhouse. Well, we had a 27* night last night and when I opened the greenhouse this morning the plants were looking pretty sad. Soil was moist, they were buried fairly deep (covering those fuzzy hairs on the stem), but I think they...

The only place I think you can find them is North Dayton Garden Center in Dayton, Ohio. I don't live anywhere remotely close, but a buddy of mine heads up there several times a year to visit relatives. He picked up 4 plants for me this year.
Last year, he used them and he had tomatoes way before I did and his put out more per plant and for much longer than the several popular varities I had out. They truly are neighbor beaters.
If you are in that area or have someone passing through, I...

Hello everyone!
I have a 30hp 1983 JD 950. It works just fine and is really easy to work on/fix when it has trouble.
while I plan on keeping the 950 I want to upgrade to around a 100 hp. I know I have to get different (bigger) attachments but want something that can pull a 10’ disc (or larger) and a no till drill.
being as specific as you can what tractor should I be looking for that is dependable, easy to work on and doesn’t have all the computer crap on it?
any help is appreciated ..read more

Interesting story that I found
Deep in the woods of rural Appalachia is a man that lives alone on his land. He grows his own food, has no government ID, his overhead is $140 a month, and he possesses a claimed happiness by being free from the system, inspired by faith. Join me as we travel into the sticks of Kentucky to dive into the fascinating world of Titus Morris.

Hello all,
Hope this is the right forum. We have a country driveway 100+ yards long with 3 alarms. We've tried many makes/models of driveway alarms over a decade but they all fall short. Some worse than others.
Has anyone discovered an all-weather, reliable driveway alarm that that works with no excuses? I predict somebody will be rich without limits when they figure this one out ..read more

I have gardened alot but never grown cabbage. I love spicy cabbage, not pickled and spicy like kimchi but spicy and frozen in portions like collard greens.
My question: I'm in zone 6 in SWOhio. I was planning to start planting on 4-1, carrots, onions, potatoes, cabbage. Its a big old farm garden, a quarter acre, so not that big. I rotate four foot wide rows annually. I alsi grow in sequence: early / mid / late, if possible.
I've been reading up but there are alot of choices. What has been...
