Hello! I'm not sure if this will generate many responses but I thought I'd give it a try. I have two siblings who I've had since birth, own the mother also, and they have a neurological disorder that is like Episodic Ataxia in humans. Not sure how it happened but we suspect the vaccines due to the timing of the episodes and the development of the disorder. Does anyone know someone with ataxia? Anyone know anything that helps when these episodes come on? What I can do to reduce them... Ataxia and Holistics ..read more

So a lot of you probably already know that Goose suffers from allergies, with her main triggers I’ve noticed for her being pollen and dust. I just back from the vet as she’s been itching a bit and wanted to get her skin checked to make sure she hasn’t developed another skin infection from her itching. Luckily she hasn’t! The vet prescribed some more Apoquel as she’s running low, and also advised that chicken is a common food allergy for dogs. She recommended trying the Purina Pro Plan or... So, the other day, a friend of mine – a bit of a newbie to the whole dog parenting thing – hit me with this question: "Can you cook raw dog food?" Now, while I've been around the block a few times when it comes to caring for our furry mates, I gotta admit, it got me thinking. I mean, we all want what's best for our pups, right? And that includes giving them top-notch nosh. So, I figured I'd do a bit of sleuthing on the topic and share my findings with you a lot. But before we dive in... Cooking Raw Food ..read more

I'm new, but it looks like there's not much going on here. I was a member many years ago, and things have changed. A LOT. My question...I take an herbal allergy med, and one of my Aussies is having seasonal allergy issues popping up. Everything listed on my meds is safe for dogs, I'm just questioning one ingredient, apricot bitters. I've heard a long time ago that I THINK it's fine for dogs, but research isn't showing enough to give me a definite answer. So, anyone know? Is that a safe... Herbal allergy question ..read more

O.K., this is a new one for me, my female who goes to daycare once a week started humping another dog consistenetly today, she's never done that before and I'm wondering if there is a possibility if it could be a result of feeding raw food. She's 17 months old and been spayed since she was 8 months old ..read more
