Hey guys,
I am an EOD K9 handler working with a 4 yr old lab. I have only been working with this dog for a couple of months and he has been great at his job but has a few bad habits I am trying to to train out of him. One of the things I have been trying to fix is his obedience to oder. During training I will get him onto oder and any leash pressure at all and he pulls off of it. I am wanting him to start dragging me (figuratively speaking) to oder when he gets on it. Any techniques or...

Hi everyone, Happy Monday!
In the last year I became an empty nester. Man, I thought I would be excited AND I was for about a week. Then it was more like "who am I with out being a mom first?". Bless my husband because I have tried so many things in the last year but nothing really lit a passion inside of me until this past weekend.
This past weekend we were invited to our first weekend clinic/training session. Anubis (Doberman) loves to learn and is eager to please however I still went...

So I'm freshly home after training up and certifying an explosive detection dog. It's a Belgian Malinois. It was a large kennel environment for 13 weeks and now that I'm home the dog is destressing. The issue I'm running into is she isn't hitting on odor like she did before. Is it just the new environment or something else. Also I know I'm going to get different answers here but keep her in the crate all the time or leave her out except for when I'm not home or nights? Thank you ..read more

My name is Rick and have a 1 1/2 yr old miniature Australian shepherd named Boomer.
I have been luck to have had 13 other dogs of various breeds in my life…yeah, I’m old.
Boomer is THE most affectionate dog of them all. He’s my shadow, my jester & best friend. The amo of “kisses” I get in a day is not measurable.
As a pup I walked outside with him to do his business and he does great at it.
However, I have tried to get him to go potty by himself. But NO! He won’t leave my side. This...

Hello!
My name is Greg, I’m 35, I live in California with my fiancé. We have a 14 month old Doberman named Zuko.
We are very new to the working dog scene; but I’ve found that I absolutely love this game.
Zuko’s disposition more closely resembles the show like Dobies; that’s not to say that he doesn’t love to train and he’s incredibly intelligent.
We have a working-line female dobie arriving this year. We want to take her as far as possible in her training. In the meantime, I’m learning how...
