EAT joined more than 80 Portuguese organizations subscribing Open Letter on Climate for Higher Education Institutions – a movement for the declaration of climate emergency among Portuguese higher education institutions. This movement demands that higher education schools reach carbon neutrality until 2030. This goal is aligned with the current climate science, getting Portugal closer to what was predicted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change of the United Nations as necessary to fulfil the objectives exposed in the Paris Agreement. Today in EAT Around The World, we will talk about EAT Nigeria! Founded in 2015 by Abdullahi Chara, EAT Nigeria was the first team created in Africa. Every year, medical students that make part of EAT team go to secondary schools to discuss with adolescents the benefits of a life free of tobacco.
