Daniela Hantuchova was one of the most popular players in the last 20 years. She was tall, graceful, and tactical. She had great touch at the net which led to even greater success in doubles. Although she had a fantastic career, with a career-high of #5 in singles and doubles to go along with 7 titles in singles and 9 in doubles, it was at Indian Wells where she shone the brightest. Hantuchova raised the Indian Wells crown twice in her career, in 2002 and in 2007. Both those years saw Hantuchova finish the year ranked in the top 10 in the world. In 2002 she was an improbable champion. She came ..read more

After a long and difficult year and a half to clear her name. Simona Halep will be back at the 2024 Miami Open. Haven’t played a competitive match since 2022 it will be interesting to see how she fares against the new women at the top. While Halep was gone, Sabelenka, Swiatek, and Rybakina have established themselves at the very top of the WTA as the women to beat. It’s not as if Halep has been sitting around for the better part of the last year and a half. I follow her on Instagram and she’s been training as hard as ever, always confident that the courts would rule in her favor. The gritty Ro ..read more

Through the decades, we have witnessed how great Argentinian tennis has been. From Guillermo Vilas to Gabriela Sabatini and all the way to Juan Martin del Potro, Argentina has always been firmly on the tennis map. Because although Diego is struggling to get wins on the ATP as of late, a bunch of his countrymen are picking up the slack. On the men’s side, Argentina finds itself with three men in the top 30. Led by Francisco Cerun ..read more

Federer won three more grand slams past the age of 32 and Nadal won five grand slams past the age of 32. Pete Sampras could have easily won another five Grand Slams if he chose to continue to dedicate his life to professional tennis. He wa ..read more

For almost a whole year, Emma Raducanu has been working to come back from injury. The last time she played was at the Stuttgart Open in April of 2023. At that tournament, she was crushed by Jelena Ostapenko in the first round 6-2, 6-1. Injuries have plagued the young British star throughout her short career, and especially after her surprise US Open win in 2021 at the tender age of 18. Since then, the expectations and the injuries have worked against the talented Raducanu. Good for her for finally going under the knife to address some of the issues she had been having.
