I’m Sophie and I’m currently in my second year studying Banking and Finance at Cardiff Met. As part of my ‘Volunteering Project’ module, I was tasked with organising an event to fundraise for a charity named Maggie’s. Maggie’s offers free support to anyone with cancer and their families and friends. The charity is especially close to my heart due to a close family member passing away just under a year ago with lung cancer. Having the opportunity to volunteer with Maggie’s allowed me to research the charity and be comforted by the support they provide to families. My classmates and I decided to ..read more

Tŷ Hafan is a children’s life-limiting and end-of-life care respite charity-funded facility based in Sully, Wales. We decided on the roles within the team, and I was voted in as team leader (In a similar way as ‘The Apprentice ..read more
