I thought this would be a neat thread to get started. Anytime someone sees some excellent clearance or seasonal deals, please post them here, especially if the deals are online or at national bricks and mortar stores. I'll get it started.... I went looking for deals this week since this is typically the time of year most stores put things on big clearance to get ready for their spring merchandise. I had to go to town for a bunch of errands anyways, so I stopped at WM. I found a few... Read more ..read more

I tied a freezer bag with vinegar in it to my shower head and left it for the day to remove limescale. It did a brilliant job. I already use it with bread soda to unblock the sinks and make a cleaner with orange peels. (Not my photo) I had a quick look and didn't find a thread dedicated to vinegar, and I thought the new folks on the forum might be interested. 19 Vinegar Cleaning Hacks That’ll Save You Money Vinegar is a natural cleaning solution that yields numerous benefits in and around your home — and it's so cheap! www.familyhandyman.com ..read more

The new jar opener we got for Christmas seems to be working The long u-shaped handle is sturdy. At what I will call the top ( on the left side in this picture )there is a serrated piece that fits over the edge of the jar. This piece looks like it is spot welded or crimped onto the u-shaped handle. When you close what I will call the grip, the center mechanism, which also has a serrated edge, slides down the u-shaped handle. You open the grip to fit the jar and then press... Do you take meds, I take a lot of them, but I save those little moisture eaters in a separate pill bottle, here's what I do with them: I store my everyday use stuff in gallon pickle jars, in go two or three before I grease the inside of the lid to keep out critters. Try PAM, you won't get weevils or micro-roaches ever! Ever had a 1/2 bag of chips nobody wanted? it happens here weekly. Pop a couple of those moisture eaters in a gallon jug and dump your unwanted chips in, it does not matter... Read more ..read more

We don't have a thread on this that I saw. Post what does and doesn't work. I have seen some of this sprinkled around in other discussions. Such as rotation systems physical shelves as well as lists. What gave me the idea was eating some of our mistakes. Canned food past it's "best by" dates. We moved and had things in more than one geographical location. So far I can say beef stew 2 years past it's prime was fine. A Dak ham 7 years past it's prime was edible but as a last resort. I have... Read more ..read more

I change my fitted sheets once a year. Now before you say "Ewww! No wonder he doesn't date!" Hear me out. I put down a thin comforter on top of it, it gets washed, I tuck it in and there we go. if it gets too cold I can wrap up in it as well as my covers and it reflects heat better. So when I do get a date, I just have to change the one sheet to match it ..read more

My friend has more food stamps then he can spend. I know they don't roll over, so I want to give him a list of things to buy that he might need, you know, nutrients, storable food, cans of the best kind of soup, etc. His fridge is full and he was considering giving some out, but I want to present to him a nice list of things he could save for a hard time ..read more

Will you change how you sell products you produce ? By not using 3rd party payments and move to in person pick up and cash payments? To avoid paying tax? Or will you quit altogether? I know alot of people make ends meet by selling used goods, arts, or puppies. And use online sites to advertise. The posts on foodstamps or welfare programs in general, even Medicaid, got me wondering since that income would count against you in the next reviews. I know paypal and other pay platforms its posted... Read more ..read more
