On July 22nd we exit Cancer season and move into Leo.
Our tarot card for Cancer is Major Arcana VII, The Chariot. It’s the last card in Line One of the Major Arcana.
Since our tarot card for 2024 is also Leo’s card, Strength, this year’s shift from The Chariot to Strength is an especially significant time to review what we are shedding. It’s time to outgrow what no longer serves.
To help us make this shift, I want to focus on the Minor Arcana card, the Seven of Swords.

I know it's a little corny to call the solstice the soul-stice, but this June I'm feeling a little bit corny!
June 21st is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, and the first day of Cancer season.
It is the longest day and the shortest night of the year, creating beautiful opportunities for ritual, celebration and harvest. We honor the light, and look toward the dark on the Summer Solstice. We acknowledging that even as summer blazes forth, we are still marching toward colder days and longer nights.
The Southern Hemisphere is moving through their Winter Solstice, or Yule, today ..read more

Feeling the Squeeze
We celebrated the half-way point of Spring last week, and before you know it, we will be halfway into 2024.
At the beginning of this year I wrote about how 2024 is an 8 year (2+0+2+4=8). Like the number and like the infinity symbol, we come into this year in one way, and we’re going to leave it on a different yet connected path.
How’s it going for you?
If I look at my path this year as a figure eight, I’m feeling the squeeze. I set some very ambitious goals in January and I’m worried they’re now out of reach. This contraction is calling me to confront some old fears ..read more

Happy Earth Day!
As I write this, it is a beautiful and sunny spring day.
We’ve entered the fixed-earth sign of Taurus, and to honor the day and the season, I’d like to explore how the Tarot’s Ace of Pentacles can support us in slowing down, connecting to our planet, and our corporeal selves.
Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970 as a call for students to fight for environmental causes and oppose environmental degradation with the same energy that they displayed in opposing the Vietnam War.
The idea of protecting our planet was a radical notion. As you know, the natura ..read more

To help you get into a Ten of Cups vibe as you enjoy this post, check out the very sunny and rainbow colored playlist here.
When I first started learning the Tarot, I understood the Ten of Cups as the 'happily ever after' card. And what's not to like about happily ever after? Nothing, except that it's a fairy tale.
If we turn to the Tarot as a tool for predictions, it's easy to interpret the Ten of Cups as a sign that everything will work out great. The problem with that kind of interpretation is that it keeps the pot of gold happiness in an ever-elusive mirage someday in the future.

On Sunday, March 10th we'll welcome a New Moon in Pisces.
If you want to super-charge your manifestation work, you can align your intentions with the phases of the Moon.
You can read my full Moon Manifestation guide here. In brief, we begin our new manifestations at the New Moon, then grow our plans at the Crescent Moon phase. At the First Quarter (half) we get into action, and at the Waxing Gibbous we take stock of all we've done. At the Full Moon we release whatever has still to be done to Spirit and then release with gratitude and surrender until the next New Moon.
As soon as I learned abo ..read more

In 2023 we completed a major cycle. In 2024 we awake on the another level.
Welcome to 2024!
I hope that you had a fun time ringing in this new year, I know that I did! As I sit down to write about our card of the year, Strength, I’m already enjoying its energetic shift.
We arrive at Strength as our card for 2024 because 2 + 0 + 2 + 4= 8, which is the number of the Strength card in Tarot’s Major Arcana.
Examining the energy of our card of the year is not an exercise in predictions. It’s more of an invitation to step into an exploration of our personal journey ..read more

This Thursday December 21st is the Winter Solstice, marking the longest night of the year. It's the first official day of winter and begins the season of Yule, which celebrates the rebirth of the Sun
On the Solstice the Sun appears to stand still, or in Latin solstitium.
In ancient times we would honor this time of darkness with rest. It’s ironic that today this is the busiest time of year for many.
The natural world is embracing stillness at this time, and to help us do the same, I've got some Yule ideas for your winter reset.
And remember, there are 12 days of Yule, so there is no rush to e ..read more
