Well, how time flies... I had on my "to do" list that I needed to update my website, and when I just logged on I realised the last time I popped on here was November 2020! Thank you to everyone who contributed to the hafla - we raised a fantastic amount of £701 for Redditch Heart Safe and I know how very grateful they are. I was asked which school we would like a defibrilator to be donated to, as our funds have raised almost enough to purchase one, and I chose Tardebigge First School. I always find that as soon as Halloween and Firework night have passed it suddenly feels very wintery and dark as the nights draw in, and the festive season is just around the corner! I'm looking forward to the winter hafla in a few weeks - we have some fab raffle prizes this year, plus some lovely performances. A few changes that have taken place this week - my Monday morning class at Stars dance school is now going to start at 10am instead of 9.30am - I think it was a tad too early for some!! Also, I have regrettably had to cancel plans to have workshops on the day of the hafla. However, we will still have Horizon as our guest performer to liven the night up with some 'Can- Can' dancing! It's mid-August and these next few weeks i'm having to cancel classes here & there which I don't like doing but sometimes needs must, so please check the 'latest updates' page for dates. I like to carry on through summer unlike many teachers who stop for the whole of the summer holidays, but it does mean numbers can fluctuate a lot as people are away, and so trying to teach a routine is made more difficult. After saying in my previous post that I didnt have the time to teach a new class, hey ho, I've gone & agreed to do a beginners class! I was approached by a new dance school in Bromsgrove and there was interest for belly dance classes. I dont have time in the evenings or the energy (!) but have agreed to teach a Monday morning session to see how it goes, I am hoping it will encourage the Moms who have just done the school run to come for an hours shimmying! I hate to say it, but for the past few months, maybe even a little longer, my enthusiam for belly dance has dropped a little, and i've lost my 'spark'! I think it is mostly to do with tiredness/lack of energy and not being able to find the time to work on my own dance interests. It is all I can do just to stay on top of class choreographies and class plans, plus having the hafla to start organising. It is hard to keep motivated and 'fresh' when you've been dancing about 8 years, and I appreciate the dancers who have stuck with me for maybe 5-6 years now. I realised that I haven't 'blogged' for AGES! Maybe I don't have anything to share with you, but the real reason is because I don't seem to find time anymore! I knew being a Mommy wasn't going to be easy, but I think I under-estimated just how much time is taken up by my boys! Even when they're in bed and I flop on the sofa, by the time I've had tea, tidied the lounge that looks like a bombs hit it, and had a quick flick through facebook to catch up on gossip, it's time for bed at 9pm! I haven't 'blogged' for a while - it seems 2 little boys are taking up a lot more of my time than I ever imagined possible! I get to go on facebook most days for a quick mooch, and I suppose a lot more of us use facebook for uploading photos, news, chat etc as it is instant & easily accessible. I can't believe that it is last class of 2012 next week, what a year it has been! This time last year I was in hospital, a week away from having my boys...can't believe how much has happened in 12 months! I'm really looking forward to our festive meals after class, and then a bit of a break for me to work on some new routines ready for January!
