A premature baby from Florida has gone home from hospital for the first time after spending over a year in neonatal intensive care. Baby Shiloh was born at 29 weeks gestation and weighed just over three pounds at birth. He experienced multiple health problems including chronic lung injury and a hole in his heart, and transferred hospitals shortly after birth to get the specialist help he needed. Two married nurses who work on a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Nebraska have adopted a little girl who received care in their unit for eight months. The state of Oregon had the highest number of assisted suicides in 2023 since the practice began in 1998. The latest annual assisted suicide report ‘Oregon Death with Dignity Act: 2023 Data Summary’, released last month, has revealed a total of 367 people ended their lives by assisted suicide in 2023 in Oregon.
