I just finished Madeline Miller's Circe early this morning, and I loved it. It was good. Also made me kind of jealous that I'm not one of those herbal planty witches. I do work with herbs and plants every once in a while, but I'm not that great at growing or even harvesting domestic or wild plants. I don't know what's what. Well, I know some, but not enough to be a wild harvester. There are some plant spirits that are allies. I'd like to get a survivalist local plant guide and learn. I think those are excellent skills to have--to know what's what ..read more

Happy Krampus Night!
We have made our Krampus lore more kid friendly in our home (we don't need the threats of physical pain and kidnapping boogeymen to discipline our kids), and he is a beloved entity in our family. Instead of Elf on the Shelf, we do a Krampus on the Prowl using this Funko Pop Krampus. Everyday the kids search the house for his next hiding place. Rules are that Krampus has to be able to see them, high or low, which keeps them out of cabinets, draws, and our bedroom.
On Krampus Night, we create an altar for him, with offerings from the kids, and mead or whiskey from the adu ..read more

Haha, I forgot to post this yesterday. Well, there's still time to do dark moon and prosperity magicks!

And if you do the monthly thing, don't forget to blow cinnamon in through your door...or whatever else money attracting ritual you may have. As I tend to do, especially when dealing with griefwork, I've been going through my photos, organizing, reorganizing, and of course struggling to figure out dates, and making sure that I'm not being a hypocrite with that pet peeve.
While doing all of this, I decided to make a memorial book for my mom. I know she and I didn't ha ..read more

Happy Gratitude and Turkey Day!
Overall it was pretty good. We spent it with the inlaws. I haven't any pictures edited yet. I ate way too much today. I might actually go to bed at a decent time tonight. Then tomorrow, while hub's is at work, I get to cook all of the Last Harvest alone. Not looking forward to that. I mean, that's one of the best parts of this holiday--getting together with loved ones and preparing and eating a feast together. Tomorrow I'm making:
Turkey
Stuffing
Gravy
Mashed Potatoes
Yams
Brownies
I think that's it. Most o ..read more

Had a post, but it was depressing. I decided there's enough of that in this world at the moment. I gave it a trigger warning, but given that misery loves company, I decided that if it needs a warning, why post it?
I hope this week is gentle to you if you're in need ..read more

I finished my Fall Altar Cloth which I'm still unsure if I want to turn into a hood or not...
The top part was from 2022. Judging from the bottom half, you can tell that my tension has gotten better.
I also set up the Yule Tree yesterday--it's not decorated yet. Perhaps today? I usually wait until the day after Last Harvest (Thanksgiving). But definitely need some distractions, some joy and light.
Also yesterday, a friend of mine dropped off a 19lbs. turkey! I've never cooked a whole ass turkey before. Other game birds, yeah, but nothing as big ..read more

I just finished The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. (Spoiler Alert)
All I can say is that I never really liked any of the Hellenic Heroes--none of them are heroes, in my opinion. Just more macho monsters, slavers, r*pists, and assholes. My opinion of Achilles has only changed a little--dude's a b*tch later on--which is the the message of the myth--how his hubris was his downfall. However, I'm a fan of Patroclus, whose name I still can't pronounce, even with the clear pronunciations. Much respect to this man.
I've learned that sometimes people need ..read more

I successfully completed a hooded cowl (third attempt) a couple of days ago. Ugly as sin yarn at first, until I decided to add other colors to it. It turned out and I really love it. Now I'm working on another that started out as a Fall Altar Cloth...but depending on how long it is by the time I'm done, I may turn it into a hood. I'm really into the hood thing right now.
I've been studying The Norse Shaman by Evelyn Rysdyk, and she? has a section about hoods, and had how-to directions for sewing your own. The directions are a little confusing for me, I'd have to Y ..read more

I woke up this morning and got the kids off to school. I sat down and continued binge watching season 3 of Skin Walker Ranch (doubt its real, but its entertaining. I love this cryptid shit. I'm currently watching Investigation Alien right now).
I remember back in '21 when the government confirmed the existence of UFO/UAPs, and no one really seemed to care. I mean we were deep in covid and human rights (BLM), aliens just weren't that important (minus to those who're passionate about the subject).
I took a nap, covering my ears, because a Loki Fly was buzzing around ..read more

How yall doing? How yall sleeping? How yall grieving?
The gas guy came out either for payment or shut off and he--well I assuming pronouns rn--was very kind. I was already a little emotional and overwhelmed, and he was like, "Real quick. Let's take a deep breath." He closed his eyes and did just that. Super kind and patient. He was also definitely on the rainbow, too, which made me feel calmer. He saw my LGBTQ+ Pride Flag and I think felt calmer, too.
