Winter Scarf Tea Cosy

When you think of wrapping yourself up on a winters day, a scarf is essential in your arsenal against the cold winter weather, and I thought why do we always use hat-like covers for teapots and not scarves? So I thought I'd make a scarf for a teapot, but not one that you had to wrap around, because that would simply fall off. So the scarf instead is sewn together to hold its shape. The scarf itself is made in two stripey parts. I like stripes in a scarf. If a child were to draw a scarf, I think they would nearly always draw a stripey scarf. Likewise the scarf has tassels at either end, again t ..read more

I think love and romance mean a lot of different things to different people that you talk to, but love hearts are universal, everyone knows what a love heart means in any language. So I thought a tea cosy inspired by love hearts would be the perfect teapot warmer for Valentines day or for a 7th wedding anniversary.  Feel the love and keep your tea piping hot and your heart warm and prepare to be smitten by the In Love Hearts Tea Cosy. This cute tea cosy starts off with a frilly bottom which adds a romantic border to the bottom of the cosy and then it ascends to a textured upper that has p ..read more

Bouquet Hot Water Bottle Cover

Come up smelling of roses and other flowers with TeaCosyFolk's Bouquet Hot Water Bottle Cover. It's a lovely knitting project that is perfect for adding a touch of floral cheer to your hot water bottle, and your toes will love you for it. Knitted in Aran yarn, the cover features a beautiful intarsia flower design on both sides that is worked from a chart. I thought the shape of a hot water bottle looked like a bouquet of flowers, with the neck of the bottle looking like the stems' end of a bouquet. The design has an envelope-style opening for easy hot water bottle removal, and filling of ..read more

Haggis Chocolate Orange Cosy

Especially in time for Burns Night, TeaCosyFolk have designed a Haggis Chocolate Orange cosy that looks like a haggis and perfectly fits a Terry's Chocolate Orange.  It's a cute little cosy of what a patriotic Haggis might look like up in the highland mountains. With his woolly coat, bagpipes and tam-o-shanter hat.  He's got a funny little nose that looks like the end of a cooked haggis, which is not dissimilar to the knotted end of a balloon. If you shall be addressing a haggis this Burns night, make sure it's a chocolate orange haggis. But It Here ..read more

If you're a fan of the classic combination of chocolate and orange, then the TeaCosyFolk's Harrogate Chocolate Orange Cosy is a must-have for your collection. Back in November 2023, TeaCosyFolk was at the Harrogate Knitting and Stitching show at Harrogate hosting a workshop. I had designed a little Chocolate Orange cosy for the workshop that was covered in technical stitches to make a sampler style mini project. The idea was so have a small cosy to try out some of the harder stitches that I use in my tea cosy knitting patterns. The Harrogate Chocolate Orange Cosy is a beautifully detailed ..read more

TeaCosyFolk is known for their innovative and creative tea cosy designs, and the Stegosaurus tea cosy is no exception. Designed to resemble a cute and friendly stegosaurus, this monstruous tea cosy is perfect for dinosaur enthusiasts and anyone looking to add a touch of whimsy to their tea time. The Stegosaurus tea cosy was designed for the Simply Knitting Magazine issue 246, and the pattern will be available to buy direct from TeaCosyFolk on 28th June 2024. Sledging Tea Cosy

Time for wintery fun with sledging and we are sledging in with the Sledger Tea Cosy. This tea cosy is inspired by fun childhood times playing in the snow. It's fun and a little bit scary, whizzing down a hill on a sledge. The sledging tea cosy has a child on a sledge, laying on their tummy. They are wrapped up in winter clothing, with mittens and a woolly pompom hat. The sledge is a traditional style, I think they refer to them as Scandinavian style sledges.  I love the wellington boots, they look so cute. The tea cosy reminds me of winters in the 70's when the snow used to get reall ..read more

We Three Kings of Orient Are Tea Cosy

I do love Christmas carols and 'We Three Kings of Orient Are' inspired me to design this tea cosy. I just love the composition with a cute camel and fabulously dressed King on top with his precious gift. I suppose camels don't really get much of a mention at the Nativity. But the 3 Wise Men came from such a long way, they would have needed transportation; and being Kings they would have the Rolls Royce of the animal world - camels. I suppose that the camels would have been a sign of their wealth and greatness. Camels come in various shades from cream through to light brown, which gives lots of ..read more

Genie and his Lamp Tea Cosy

With Christmas just around the corner, a panto-inspired tea cosy is perfect for this time of year. A firm favourite pantomime with theatres over Christmas is the story of Aladdin. It was with this in mind that I designed the Genie and the Lamp tea cosy. This tea cosy uses the teapot and incorporates it into the composition to be a 'lamp' for the genie. I have given the main part of the cosy some simple decoration to make it look more lamp like, and I have given the lid a fancy looking knob on the top. The Genie is coming from the lamp as if he has been summoned, and he is ready to serve his ma ..read more

Chameleon Tea Cosy

This has got to be one of the cutest reptile tea cosy designs for your teapot, the Chameleon Tea Cosy. I love weird and wonderful, and you don't get much quirkier then a chameleon, so I wanted to design a fun and quirky chameleon tea cosy. The chameleon is stood there with one leg raised. Apparently they can stand still like this for hours at a time.  The chameleon's body is striped and the stripes continue down the tail. And then there are a few spots on his hind legs. Chameleon's have bulbus eyes that can move independently, and the chameleon tea cosy has boggly eyes that give his ..read more
