Boeing has agreed to purchase 7.5 million gallons (over 22,700 tonnes) of blended Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel in 2024 to support its U.S. Commercial Airplanes business operations in reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The volume of Neste’s sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is part of Boeing’s total purchase of 9.4 million gallons of blended SAF, representing Boeing’s largest annual SAF purchase to date, 60% more than in 2023. On 15 April 2024, Finavia will start the renovation of Helsinki Airport’s runway 3 and its taxiways in accordance with its maintenance plan. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) intercepted 1,503 firearms at airport security checkpoints during the first quarter of 2024, which ended March 31. This total represents an average of 16.5 firearms per day detected at TSA checkpoints, comparable to firearm detections during the same time period in 2023, when TSA officers intercepted 1,508 firearms at airport security checkpoints, an average of 16.8 firearm catches per day. Neste and Air New Zealand have signed an agreement for the supply of nine million liters (around 7,200 tonnes or 2.4 million gallons) of neat Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
