I want to move my battery backup system into the attic. I am in the process of finishing that space as a living area but can section off part of it for the batteries. What would I need to do to make that work? venting, spill mitigation, etc. Is there a building code established for doing this ..read more

I have 2 Trace C40 charge controllers and two remote faceplates for sale that I acquired from the guy I bought my Trace Inverters from a few years ago. He had them all this equipment he had purchased new and then decided to go a different route. I didn't need the cc's, but he would have been stuck with them, so I bought them, too. I'm using Classic 150's, and now that the system is up and running, I've decided it's time for these to go.
Both are in thier original shipping box with all paperwork (manual and registration card). Both have been stored in either his garage or my house since ..read more

using 4kw power inverter with a 60a with bms16s 250a on 3.2v lipo battery pack.
when the screen gives soc 100% the controller will give a faulty light and tone.
and controller says overvoltage of batteries.
like to know how to change settings in controller or BMS to fix that.
Awaiting your reply

I'm considering powering my aerator air pump on my aerobic septic system via my solar panels already installed in my cabin. I already have plenty of excess capacity to do this, so it's just a matter of hooking it up. My solar panel system is currently only used for 12v lighting throughout the cabin with a stand alone inverter used just as needed in a grid power down situation. The specs. on the pump are 1.6 amps at 71 watts. At 11 cents per Kwh I figure this pump is costing around 6 dollars a month to run 24 hrs a day. Can someone check my calculations?
Anyway, it would save me money so I'm t ..read more

Hi
We are contemplating putting an InsightHome next to our inverter and batteries in our Powershed located about 100 feet from our house (due to Canadian regulations against having energy storage in a dwelling place, and the fact that our generators are in another room of the fireproof shed anyways). Having the hum of the inverter out of the house will be good too.
We are using a 600V charge controller so the PV voltage drop is only a few percent and 100 feet for the 120/240 VAC coming back from the shed isn't too bad either.
Our 5G/LTE based router has Wi-Fi in the house, but it does ..read more

When using the inverter I am replacing, I just ran 240 (black and white) and ground from my main panel to the inverter and it supplied the same back to my sub panel to power both 240 and 120 circuits and it worked perfectly.
My new inverter requires black and red at 240v and a white (neutral) and a ground for input (common neutral config?).
My question is how to take the output of the inverter back to the sub panel to have the functionality as the previous sub panel?
The output of the inverter seems to be the same as the input, red, black, white and ground. Do I power the subpanel with the re ..read more

I have a portable 200 Watt Mono PERC panel with these specs Voltage … Open 26.72V, Working 21.5V; Current … Open Max 9.35A, Short 9.79A
I have a standalone Power Station by BougeRV model Fort1000 1120Wh. The power station has a PV input with specs max input 8 Amps, 12 to 30 Volts. The Power station is completely enclosed, you cannot access the battery terminals directly, you must connect the Panels to the PV input. I would like to connect the panel direct to the PV input on the power station, but I am worried that it could exceed the max input current of 8 amps, so I thought adding a Vic ..read more

Ok, Looks like my 6848 may have developed a problem and I'm looking for suggestions as to where to start troubleshooting. Please understand that I work from sunup to sundown during the week so it will probably be this weekend before I can really open things up.
Wife gets home this evening and the Christmas tree in the front yard is lit up. Garage door opens normally but only after it refused to close before she realized the house power had gone out.
Inverter is grid tied and after a sunny winter day Conext battery monitor ..read more

Hi All,
I'm on-line from down in New Zealand. We used 240vAC power here but there's good interest in solar for water heating. Most of the systems use water filled, black painted copper panels and pump water through to the hot water cylinder. It's heavy and risks roof issues if there is a leak.
I've been thinking for a number of years if there's scope for a combination 240v AC / 24V DC hot water cylinder, running two heater element.
The primary element would be the 240v, connected to the house supply and with a thermostat, switching power off when it got too hot. The second would be the 24v e ..read more
