Just a heads up, the bridge at Dillon Pinnacles on Hwy 50 that crosses the Blue Mesa Reservoir is now closed indefinitely. CDOT closed it yesterday due to problems with the bridge integrity after inspections yesterday. All that is known yet is there is no date for it to be open. So anyone who is planning to travel that way on Hwy. 50 you won't be able to. As of now the detours are I-70 and Hwy 160 ..read more

Hello Paul, My husband and I have never travelled to Mexico, but would love to take our RV to the Torreon area for the eclipse. Family issues made us think we were not going to be able to see our 5th total solar eclipse, but now it looks like we've got the green light! Do you know of any caravan headed that way or a place to camp for a couple nights in that area? Thanks!  Susan ..read more

Hello. My son and I live in Florida. We have RV'd to Carlsbad Caverns, Zion NP, Grand Canyon, Mammoth Cave, Arches NP, Moab, Yellowstone,  Bryce NP, Indy 500, Nova Scotia, etc.. This summer we are limited in travel day hours due to a new family puppy that will be traveling with us, but we still want to get out and adventure. Our distance will most likely be limited to the south-east states this summer  I am thinking maybe wakeboard and fly fishing lessons in Arkansas or Missouri, along with a couple of day hikes that we can tackle together. What other adventures can you suggest to ke ..read more

We had originally planned to go to Alaska this year, but circumstances dictated otherwise, so we're planning for next year. While talking with a long-time Escapee member who has been to Alaska several times, he mentioned that years ago groups of Escapees would put together their own caravans to various places. He mentioned several trips to various places with 6-30 rigs involved. According to him, that was the norm 20 years ago. To me, that seems the ideal way to go to Alaska - with a small group that is setting their own schedule. What do the rest of you think? Is this an idea that can return ..read more

Hello, I'm looking for some travel advice, we're in the Florida Panhandle now and will be traveling south to the Orlando, Winter Haven area.  Right now we're in Fort Walton Beach and we are looking to stop over in Lake City Florida in a couple of weeks.   My question is, looking at the map we could take HWY 20 east out of Niceville Florida towards Tallahassee, picking up I-10 there and then getting on I-75 heading south.   Is HWY 20 a "trailer friendly" route or should we be using I-10 all the way?  We're pulling a 39' fifth wheel with a pick up. Thanks in advance for any i ..read more
