When I see the 'I'm sorry about the formatting I'm on my phone' line in any reddit post, I don't bother opening it. It's usually a wall of text riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. All I want to say is that smartphones are as good as laptops when it comes to writing. People need to come up with a new excuse for poor writing or their laziness to proofread their posts. I'm writing this on my phone. It allows me to add spaces/ paragraphs and punctuation, it suggests better word options, and even points out typos or spelling mistakes. Increasing use of the past tense form of the verb after "did" from native speakers

I'm not a native english speaker but I've been noticing more and more americans on social media writing structures like "did it made any money" (instead of "make") or "he didn't died" (instead of die). Do some native speakers actually talk like this or is it just one of those instances where the autocorrect is messing up their grammar ? The rule of using the infinitive form after "did" and "didn't" is one of the first things we learn in english class as non-native speakers, how is it possible for natives to be unaware of it ? submitted by /u/ahayahahsjsjs [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I've seen this in the wild only a few times, but felt compelled to share it with folks who might appreciate it. Why would someone capitalize every word?
