This summer has been extremely busy for me. I also just returned to work in a building, with a full staff of people and young children. So, maybe you can imagine the anxiety I’m feeling, but if you can’t, it is quite an overwhelming feeling. So, this blog post is not going to be heavy at all. After one week and one day of being in the NICU, it was finally time for little Mr. Casey to come home. Woohoo! Yes, Casey is the name we decided upon after pulling a name out of a hat that I still could not settle with. It just did not seem right. I can’t even remember the name. Even though the name “Case”, which was on our list, didn’t make the hat, Brian thought Casey might be a good name because, at the time, he was the commander of Camp Casey in Dongducheon, South Korea and also because of my affinity for Casey Affleck . If you read my previous blog post, then you know that I had my surprise son at 47 years old and delivered him in a hospital in Seoul, South Korea. If you haven’t, I need you to catch up (LOL). So, the pregnancy and the delivery went well, but not so much after that. In the United States, regardless of whether you have had a vaginal birth or C-section, you get to hold your baby if you are physically capable of doing so (or so I’m told). “Congratulations, you are #pregnant!” Not exactly the words you expect to hear when you are 46. I just thought I would be hearing confirmation of what I had already suspected, symptoms of #PERIMENOPAUSE. Because the three positive home pregnancy tests were just not enough. I attributed the positive results to elevated #hCG levels related to perimenopause. Nope, it was a little #embryo growing inside of me. I really did not know how to feel.
