So this is something ive been thinking about a lot. A lot of people look really good in daylight, but at night all their features get lost, and they look really bland. (im one of those people). i think it has a lot to do with "muted" coloring, as opposed to clear coloring. For example i know a lot of girls that are objectively pretty, but they look AMAZING at night.
