Heeey,
I'm taking research project internship for my Masters at a logistics company. I am focusing on their low kilograms per loading meter (LDM) on some of their export lines. They're not utilising the full space potential of their trailers or swap bodies for certain destinations.
Here's the situation: the company aims for a 700KGs/LDM target across all their export lines. Some lines consistently meet this target, but others are consistently not meeting it and are falling short. There could be several reasons behind this like sometimes not so good data from customers, time for loading and un ..read more

Anyone who has done a project on VRP for overland transportation? I would like to understand how do you explain the results of scenarios (baseline vs what-if) to your customers and what is the outcome?
I’m particularly lacking the knowledge how to use the results.
Is it used for negotiating the truck contracts by saying for e.g. if you drive your trucks like these, you can get so and so savings, less CO2 emissions, better truck utilization?
Pls share your experiences!

Hello. I am a 2nd year student at a university in North Carolina, double majoring in Accounting and Business Administration: Supply Chain Management.
Recently, I have obtained in an internship in procurement with a biotech company and was wondering if the accounting double major would be worth pursuing to have a career in procurement. Perhaps, it would give me a flexible scope of options for a career if I wanted to shift out of procurement (i.e. cost accounting, CPA, CFE).
Thank you for your insight!

I am currently graduating from my master's degree in project management. My graduation research focuses on the diversity/inclusion of the logistics sector. The aim of the graduation assignment is to achieve more diversity/inclusion in the logistics sector through gamification. For this purpose, a short employee satisfaction survey must be completed: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1sHe2DYsQ0hseE4ejqVwe_WrNbb-QyaB8bF8MOY9n3q0/prefill
