Quick trip to a swimmable beach in the fall

I'm looking for suggestions for a quick 3-4 night trip to a luxury hotel with a swimmable beach in the fall. Options include MO Canouan (but there's seagrass), Amanera (the beach may not be swimmable), FS Tamarindo, and FS Punta Mita. We've been to O&O Mandarina a few times but we'd like to try someplace else. We have some other Caribbean trips planned this year so I'm leaning toward Mexico. It's also during hurricane/low season so St. Barts is closed and the Caribbean is risky although I know PVR can also get some storms. Any ideas? Trying to avoid Anguilla and Turks where we've been rece ..read more

Introduction I stayed 5 nights at Palazzo Portinari Salviati in Florence in the Executive Grand Suite Galileo Duomo View. My sister also stayed 3 nights in the Frescoed Junior suite a week before me. Palazzo Portinari Salviati is a 13 room boutique luxury hotel. The property opened in 2022 after a renovation of this historical Palazzo turning it into a small luxury hotel (and residences). But unlike many other small boutique hotels, PPS has a relatively large set of common areas & amenities: it has two restaurants (one Michelin starred), a bar and a spa and fitness and expansive common are ..read more

Michelin Keys discussion

I've seen passing mention of Michelin Keys in other threads, but vaguely surprised not to see further discussion (there may be a reason - perhaps it's well known FTers hate Michelin, and I've missed that!). Interested to see folks' take on the (in)famous Guide's new undertaking. Some decisions made sense to me (Auberge du Soleil, Hotel Bel Air, and Post Ranch Inn, among others, in CA), others did not. San Ysidro Ranch not mentioned at all is odd; SingleThread is a perfect 3 star restaurant but they're playing fast and loose with these designations calling the 5 room Inn - with no spa or pool ..read more

Introduction I stayed 4 nights at Casa Cipriani Milano in an Executive Suite. It’s the hotel’s top room category, although you can turn it into a 2br suite by connecting an adjoining Superior Room.Casa Cipriani is a 3k EUR / year members club with two restaurants, the Living Room bar / restaurant / lounge, plus a spa / fitness center. The club has a strict no photos policy and a dress code (no athletic shoes, men’s jackets after 6pm, etc.). The hotel part of Casa Cipriani has 15 rooms and hotel guests have privileges as club members. Before my stay I had heard some negative / mixed signa ..read more

Any recommendations for luxury hotels in New Orleans? Anyone stayed at Maison de la Luz? We had to cancel our stay at Post Ranch Inn because of the PCH closure:( and this is a last minute substitution. I know there is nothing to compare but trying to make the best of the situation. Thanks for any recommendations ..read more

Manila seems to be lacking in the high end luxury offerings. anyone know when the new mandarin oriental will open? I am leaning toward the grand hyatt bonifaciao global city because the shangrila fort's bathrooms look too cramped and not luxurious and roomy, and the hotel is just too big. many have said nice things about the peninsula as well... Anything i am missing? also, dining recommendations from anyone ..read more
