Climbing a mountain every New Year’s Day has gradually become a tradition. A mountain in the Mournes marks the start of a new year and a new chapter. Over the decade the 4am starts became 6am and eventually 10am. Each journey different with every weather condition thrown at us from winter snow to winter sun.

The Fujifilm 35mm f/1.4 R lens was officially announced in September 2011. I was privileged to be one of three UK photographers involved in the launch of Fujifilm’s first interchangeable lens X-Series camera, the Fujifilm X-Pro1 . The 35mm XF f/1.4 was one of Fujifilm’s initial lens for the X-Series and it quickly became a firm favourite.

Back in the spring of 2011, I embarked on a photographic journey by purchasing the Fujifilm X100 camera along with a matching Fujifilm leather case. Little did I know that this would mark the beginning of a long-lasting bond with what has now become my favorite compact camera. Over the years, I’ve owned and cherished various iterations of the X100 series, from the original FinePix X100 to the latest Fujifilm X100F and Fujifilm X100V.
This versatile little camera has accompanied me on adventures spanning from the majestic Mournes to the summit of Mont Blanc, from the bustling streets of Belfast ..read more

A 50mm lens, often referred to as a “nifty fifty,” offers some exiting advantages for photographers across a wide range of genres. My first ever camera was a Canon EOS with a little 50mm lens. It was an era when most photographers didn’t have access to arrays of lenses and zooms were reasonably rare. It was simple but the advantage was a focus on composition and creativity.

On Saturday 15 June, two days before the G8 Summit at Enniskillen, the #BigIF public event took place in the Botanic Park in Belfast. Thousands of people came together to enjoy a programme of live entertainment and demand action on hunger and show their support for the Enough Food for Everyone IF campaign.
The day kicked off with a Fringe event at Fitzroy Presbyterian Church. This event featured politicians and representatives from those countries worst hit by hunger. The Fringe event was hosted by Steve Stockman (Fitzroy) and Tim Magowan (Tearfund).

I often receive emails querying the suitability of a particular camera body or lens for landscape photography. My landscape photography set up is pretty simple and hasn’t changed very much over the last few years. I named this article ‘8 Perfect Landscape Photography Accessories’. That said, there are days I go out with just with the X100V so keep it simple.
The following list are the things I normally take out on focused trips. I repeat: keep it simple and travel as light as possible. Heading out for a ten kilometre trek over rough ground means is a challenging enough and less is definitely m ..read more

Over the last year I have simplified by photographer set up to three cameras. The Fujifilm X100V, the Fujifilm X100F and an old Fujica film camera. The X100 series has been by favourite camera since its launch in 2010 (see the Fujifilm X100 Photo Gallery). I’ve gone back to what attracted me to the X100 camera in the first place, simplicity. The X100 series is compact, light and easily carried around all day in comparison to a multi-lens system yet exceptionally versatile and powerful. Here are my must have Fujifilm X100V series accessories.

Fujifilm X100V Mountain Photography really comes down to simplicity. I always struggle to know which camera to carry in the mountains. There is lots to consider image quality (focal length etc), size, bulk, weight and even protecting the camera from the elements and terrain.

One of those strange twists of fate. It was a cold January night out in London with Neil McCormick. It was snowing, but we were committed. All the way from sunny New Zealand to icy nights in Hackney, Neil Finn & family put on a display of musical togetherness to warm the cockles of the coldest heart. All photos captured with the Fujifilm X100F.
Their two shows at EaRTH, a beautifully restored north-London venue, were joyous occasions that had the audience singing, laughing and generally basking in the warmth being generated from the stage.
